  1. There are Pitfall Posts surviving on the Deerness Valley and Derwent Valley routes.
  2. Thank you. My copy of Whittle is still packed away after my house move. I don't think there is anything in it about pre-1940s ore wagons though. I have many of the published books about the area, but can't seem to find much about iron-ore traffic prior to the BR waggons . Never mind! When I have time I'll book a trip to the Ken Hoole Study Centre.
  3. Please excuse me if this is not appropriate for this thread, but I am particularly interested in the Consett iron-ore traffic previous to BR, (much though I admire the 9Fs). I presume in the late 40's the ex MOS steel hoppers (with a thicker plate than the 'normal' LNER 21t hoppers) were used. Does anyone have any evidence of what was used previously to those vehicles becoming available? Consett was importing iron ore from Spain from at least the 1870s.
  4. So, what's the matter with small 0-6-0s and the grubby three plank dropside wagon that I've spent the last few weeks making? Something had to earn the money! (I would say dividends, but I'm an LNER modeller not a shareholder!) (Please excuse posting on this thread.)
  5. Two. No.22 Mallard in LNER Black with small number. (Main period for my railway) No.4902 Seagull - Garter Blue with valances. (Earlier period - to give some colour!) Future Project Sir Nigel in postwar LNER Blue with stainless steel lettering. May use a GBL body with the valances cut away and a single chimney. May also use a Bachmann corridor tender I re-worked some years ago. (Must check the width though!)
