Triang Model-Land buildings and Minix vehicles.

The Minic Motorways accessories were regularly featured with the Model-Land range . Photo - 1966 Triang/Hornby catalogue. -
The charm of Triang charm holds true as much today as in childhood , those wonderful catalogue images and exhibition/shop layouts from the 1960’/70’s have been a constant source of fascination . The company produced many superb product ranges to accompany their railway system and two have always been a firm favourite , Model-Land and Minix . Does anyone here remember them and still incorporate them on their layouts ? The following photos show several Model-Land pre-release catalogue/promotional buildings which differed from the production versions , ML figures as well as original Triang/Hornby scatter from their Scenic Series plus a selection of Minix vehicles and Minic Motorways accessories to complete the period look . Hope the accompanying photos will bring back a few fond memories from the wonderful world of Rovex Models .

The Walthers kits are excellent and well worth the money. I’ve had a go at building several British prototypes in 1:76 scale using the original design blueprints.- 1 reply

Another wonderful layout scene photographed back in 1973 for the following years catalogue and subsequent Track Plans book editions, although this particular original studio photo was never published .

It appears the Rovex marketing team were not happy with several errors and graphics issues , these were swiftly amended on the standard reprint and include the following : 1- Several products releases had their ‘NEW’ logo tags omitted . 2- Page three features a rather dark background incorporating the boy in a lying position , subsequent prints had the background retouched/lightened to leave him seated . 3- Back cover ,floating Riko Scenics logo was replaced by a bolder yellow box version while the company’s address was also added. Although these were not major issues it still warranted a new catalogue run to be printed .

A few photos featuring the rare 1973 misprinted 19th edition catalogue. No doubt it caused a few headaches in the Rovex marketing department resulting in a swift reprint with all the errors corrected.

This particular photos was never published , however another from the same photo studio session can be found on page three of the 19th edition catalogue . The only difference is that the boy is looking down instead of facing the camera.
