  1. Thanks Dava My thoughts for my layout (obviously set during the 1940's) was going to be returning troops to a fictional country station, with a small siding and a breakers yard taking old trucks and ex military vehicles. Plenty of scope for quite a bit if detail, plus using some Low Mac type wagons with trucks and tanks on to be off loaded at the breakers yard. Ive seen this depicted in OO but not in O scale. Ive got a couple of Tamiya 1:48 army truck kits, that i'm going to build and compare to some 1:43 trucks I already have. cheers Rob
  2. Happy New Year to all :-) Sorry but being new to this forum I am wondering if I am posting in the correct section...…. This year I am looking to make further in roads with my O gauge loft layout and want to go down a WW2 scene route. The advice I am looking for is what others scales will match up as there seem to be very few model kits of that period in 1:43. I can find loads of 1:48 & 1:35 scale items. Anyone done this type of scene before and which looks best. Thanks in advance Rob
  3. Thanks Kevin. I was looking so called 'new' items from The Station Masters Rooms but they may be old stock 'new' items. I may need to look at the latest coaches from Darstaed via Ellis Clarke. Any others you could recommend ? Thanks again Rob
  4. Hi All This 7mm stuff is all new to me and I would like a bit of advice please. I am looking at buying some Darstaed coaches (new) now then, they are being sold as 2 or 3 rail pick up but "2 rail pick up not included" all my trackwork is 2 rail so does this mean the internal lighting will not work? where do I get 2 rail pick ups? or am I just being a bit dim about all this Please can someone enlighten me Thanks Rob
  5. Morning All First time post so I hope someone can help Having recently moved up from OO to O gauge I have placed a relatively large order with Shamrock Trains but I have heard nothing from them. Initially I had a return email stating my order number and I would then receive further contact on postage costs and product availability. Its now been nearly 2 weeks and I have heard nothing from them. Is this usual? I have emailed them since the order but again no response. Any ideas ? cheers Rob
