    Dapol Class 22

I thought mentioning ‘chromatic ‘would raise an eye brow. Did any engines really have a chromatic livery? Most suspected locomotives seem to be high gloss rail blue (or what could be called ‘early blue’) with small yellow panels, which Class 22’s certainly carried. D6303 carried blue and half yellow panels/early blue/chromatic. I am sure I have a record of others somewhere. I find all these early blue’s fascinating.

    Dapol Class 22

Hello I too have ordered mine from kernow (other shops are available folks ). My intention was to show support for their D600 venture by pre-ordering the Class 22. Full yellow ends and BR blue for me, with fingers crossed for a half yellow panel blue version, love them chromatics!!! Tom
  3. These are the best pics I have done on my layout so far. Heljan Clayton Bachmann 08 Connoiseur Y6 and Silverfox J70 Nu-Cast Sentinel and Connoiseur Y6
  4. It seems my earlier grumble about my 14 wobbling around on the bachrus rollers was unwarranted....the motor promptly blew up last night about 30 minutes into the run in.... so seems like I had a bad one. I will be popping mine in the post tomorrow for its return to Liverpool. How are they at running slow speed? My duff one was quite pathetic at slow speeds Any differences between the 3 different versions and slow motoring (for those with various colours)? Just curious really.
  5. Yes I am having the same. I read on the instructions with some disappointment 'powerful 3-pole motor' before i fired it up. I am now watching it wobble and grind about on my rolling road. All of my other Heljan engines have 5-pole motors. Hornby use 5-pole and Bachmann usually 3-pole. Slow running doesn't seem likely. What are others finding? can it be saved or should i send it back to Hattons? Any prospects for re-motoring?
