  1. So now that things are settling down a bit after Warley I can give a few more details.

We announced the possibility of the N gauge tanks at the end of March 2015 and 8 months later at Warley we had the first painted samples.  As others previously mentioned we had done all the research so it seemed foolish not to scale it up to 4mm.  There are still a few errors to iron out but we are very pleased with the progress and the reaction at Warley seemed to be very positive.

We propose to offer the same options in 4mm that we offered in 2mm ie same choice of liveries and tank variants. We will offer a combination of single and triple packs subject to their being enough interest to make production minimums.

Triple pack: VTG 88127, VTG 88133, VTG 88142

    VTG grey:

Triple pack: VTG 88159, VTG 88163, VTG 88172

    VTG blue:

VTG enviro-message blue - the VTG triple pack features three wagons bearing different environmental messages on the sides.

    Triple pack: 8370 7792 001-0, 8370 7792 035-8, 8370 7792 043-2

Greenergy blue / green - the Greenergy wagons are in two distinct liveries – either blue or green – in the proportions 2:1 so our pack will contain two differently numbered wagons in blue and the third in green:

    Triple pack: 8370 7792 001-0, 8370 7792 019-2, 8370 7792 007-7

The real wagons run across large parts of the UK.

At this stage we estimate that the tanks will cost in the region of £35-40 each (though the more people order the cheaper we can get them for).  As with the N gauge wagons we will take expressions of interest and if we reach our target of 2000-2500 (we are well above that in N gauge so hopefully that shouldn't be a problem in 4mm) then we will start design and production. At this stage we don't want any money (or even commitments) just indications on our website that there is interest.  If we reach the level of interest we require then we will start the design work and open an order book.  Once the design is complete and tooling is in progress we will set a deadline for orders and produce what has been ordered.

    Cheers, Mike

the tanks used on the Sinfin run are different from the RevolutioN  TEAs

  2. The ones of the 58 and 47 are ace as they show lots of the details that I need to model. I would be very interested in higher res versions. Thanks for your interest, as my back has started to recover I am now gradually increasing my modelling a little. I should hopefully be back on the layout soon but have a few commissions to finish off first!

  4. It's a big shame about the 59 as it was the only model that had been announced that I was going to get. Just got to hope that there is something else round the corner for me!

Have to admit though the J94 does look very nice. Shame it's a bit big and too old for me. :(

    Alistair

was I dreaming or did someone else not announce a 59 recently

  5.

Transfers for the class 68 are imminent. Transfers for the matching mark 2s are already available:

    Thanks,

    Steve

I am at a loss tounderstand why you would want transfers for the 68 as both of the locos in this livery are to be produced fully finished and are covered by the licence I presume

  6. I wasn't complaining about any time scale.

I was simply stating the facts from the Dapol website.

We will just have to keep an eye on the website and see when it is updated and what the update says.

you never know  you may even get 68006 to go with 007

  7. Yes I am hoping that R3Sprays will make some ScotRail transfers to and repaint some MK2s in this livery.

After looking at the ScotRail livery carefully which has been applied to 68006, 68007 and the MK2s it looks very smart and impressive. At first I didn't think I would be that keen but I really like it. Its also good that DRS liveried 68004 has appeared on the ScotRail trains too as these could be used to haul 00 Gauge MK2s as well!

Looking forward to seeing what numbers, names and liveries are produced in both scales.

you mean like this , your wish may be granted. Licence signed  deal done go for itpost-3522-0-92107800-1433778118.jpg

  8. You know what I mean - they're releasing the FL variant, which is no longer current. Aware the wagon is still in service! It's not a particular issue per se, just amuses me as I say, I was aware of the model about the time I was aware of the prototype, aaaaaand we're still waiting!

original set of drawings vanished but have now , new livery a bonusbeen replaced enabling cad cam progress

  9. Hmmm having collected an order of each of the wagons today from the wholesaler on behalf of trains12, I have had a look at the models and my opinion is slightly disappointed. There appears to be no representation of the underside flanges on the underframe and the main underframe 'spine' has four oval holes, two at each end of the wagon. I don't recall seeing these on the real wagons? Intrigued I took a comparison photo of the Dapol MCA and a almost completed Hurst Models MCA to compare the underframes. I'm just showing you the facts so please form your own opinions from the photo. Hurst kit at top and Dapol model at bottom.
