Decals are now in place. They went on fine with no silvering.Just need a coat of Matt varnish now to seal them in place.

Hi Mike, I am going to get a sheet to do the three coach branch set.

Hopefully I might get the decals done tonight as I got up early to gloss varnish this morning. I always use Micro Set and Micro Sol. But as you say, it is a bit of a faff.

Brake levers corrected 😊

Painted the chassis and body and roof and handrails are now fitted.

Got to wait now for the paint to fully harden off before I can gloss varnish the areas where the decals will sit.

A bit more work done on the MICA van today.

All the parts have now been added and the body done in white primer. The roof has been done in grey primer. 
I managed to bend and fold the end hand rails ok. Essentially they are the same as the ones I did on the horse box the other month. 
Hopefully some more painting will get done tomorrow.

Been a busy few weeks. Had our usual two weeks summer holiday in Egypt. Then a trip to Guildex. Last weekend saw us back at Statfold Barn  railway. There are photos and videos of that in the preservation forum. Today I visited Tower Models in Blackpool. Well worth a visit. Put in a pre order on the Dapol Railcar while I was there. But it looks like Xmas now before the sound fitted ones will be in stock. Not wishing to leave empty handed I bought a kit.

Great weekend again at Statfold Barn. Our third visit this year. Superb value for money. Thanks all volunteers and members of staff for a really nice weekend.

Last night there was a band on so a couple of the steamers were set up outside.

Given the quality of the site, it wouldn’t me if it were done in time.

This was the first time we had seen the garden railway open. Motive power was a Simplex.

Very nice landscape garden with a large pond.

The driver was allowing kids to have their photos taken in the driver’s seat. So another big kid had his photo taken. 😀
