From a personal wishlist but one Livery that is lacking in RTR model form is the old Wales & West/ Wales & Borders and Wessex Trains liveries. Especially with the new tooling 158s, there are so many different livery variations that can be done and each 150/2 had its own unique "Pictogram" livery.
Jumping forward a few years a 150 & 158 in the FGW 'Local Lines' livery would go nicely with the Local Lines 153 Hornby have just announced too!

Its good to see the new painted samples with the new BSI couplings etc. Although a bit odd 150232 being numbered 150216 in the painted samples, hopefully will stay as 232 so it doesn't clash with the Kernow ltd edition FGW 150

Hi All
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I don't find the search function on RM Web very useful.
Anyway, I would like to install lighting/passengers on my new Hornby Mk3 TSO Coaches, but not sure how to get it apart, and don't
want to risk breaking it! Any advice/instruction would be most appreciated.
I do think it's time manufacturers put instructions on how to open coaches in the box, like they do with locos, as many people now want to fit
lighting/passengers.
Thanks
It depends on the type of coach as alot of Hornby coaches use the old Lima tooling which are fixed together differently. Usually you can tell the difference between the Lima tooling mk3s and Hornby as the Lima have a texture on the underside and Hornby are smooth.
Anyway the Hornby mk3s are held together with 4 clips, two either side of the coach.
With the Lima tooling mk3s the roof unclips with the removal of the coach ends and lightly pushing the windows in until they can clear the bodywork.
I believe that's how it's done but it would be best to wait for another reply to be sure

That’s what I first thought, I believe it was in early 2018
I filmed it at truro on its third day of testing, can't seem to copy the link from YouTube tho

The powercars tend be swapped around every so often, think the first 2+4 set was run with 43093/016 which I'm assuming is why Hornby opted to do those powercars in the pack released last year along with the SD mk3s

Probably not for a while as they have taken quite a while to sell. We're looking at the new liveries (of which there are a few) plus we *might* re-run some of the most popular liveries from the first run (DB).
Cheers Mike
Thanks for the reply Mike
Can I suggest some large logo MRL JNAs for a possible new livery?
(Not my pic)

Noticed the VTG blue JNAs have almost sold out on the website, is there any chance there might be another batch in the future?

Bachmann did 57603 in GWR a few years ago, the new one is 57602

I’d go for a SWT 158 & 159. Just hope they finally manage to crack the FGW ‘local lines’ livery - just as Realtrack models have on their 143’s....!
Need local lines on the 150s too!

Would love one but looking at some of the issues that have been brought up in not actually sure one would run around my Clay Dries without derailing, considering it uses alot of set track curves and points, plus a fairly steep incline to get to it. My Bachmann 66s seem to navigate it fine now but even they required me to make a few changes to the trackwork at first.

I know that it’s probably a bit niche for Bachmann to do but I’d love to see them produce 950001, the Network Rail version. I get the feeling that if Bachmann were to announce it, the orders would flood in, even if it took 6 years to produce.
I defo would, same with a pair of GWR 150/0s

Bachmann website now has October 2020 as the ETA for the 150s

And they have the toilet window modification too, thankfully.
I understand tooling that is why it's taken so long, tempted to get myself two GWR ones instead of just the one now though

Does anyone know if any progress was revealed on the upcoming class 150s from Bachmann yesterday? Thanks

In advance of the Bachmann 2020 announcement I would like to state the following;
1. Nothing in it for me
2. What a load of rubbish
3. No new tooled Loco's/EMU/DMU's...what!
4. No new tooled wagons....what!
5. I'm finished with Bachmann...until the next announcement
Thank you.
You forgot the
"At that price they can keep it!"

The 2020 Hornby catalogue has vehicle numbers for each model except the Scotrail TSD's:
GWR:
TGS: 49104
TS: 48110, 48131
TSD: 48111
Formation being: 48110, 48111, 48131, 49104 (TS, TSD, TS, TGS) Set GW04?
Scotrail:
TS: 42561, 42562
TSL: 42046, 42045, 42343, 42184
TSD: No numbers on website, Not shown in catalogue.
TGFB: 40601, 40602
From this you can have two sets and two spare TSL's which could possibly be used to make a 5 car set:
TGFB, TSD, TS, TSL, (TSL)
HA25: 40602, 42292, 42562, 42045
HA26: 40601, 42004, 42561, 42046
Cross Country:
TGS: 44021, 44052
TCC: 45001, 45003
TFD: 41193, 41195
TSD: 42366, 42376, 42380, 42371
TS: 42342, 42097, 42377, 42370, 42378, 42036, 42051, 42369
From this you can make two sets and have a few spare vehicles:
TFD, TCC, TS, TS, TS, TSD, TGS
XC01: 41193, 45001, 42342, 42097, 42377, 42366, 44021
XC03: 41195, 45003, 42370, 42378, 42036, 42376, 44052
Brilliant! Was hoping someone would list the coach numbers just written down the numbers for XC03 so I know what to order. Gonna be getting two GWR rakes anyways so don't have to worry about the numbers for them, just buy one of each.

Wishlist from Bachmann:
Class 150 in both Wessex Trains maroon and FGW 'local lines'
Class 158 in Wessex trains/ Alphaline and FGW 'local lines'
Retooled class 165/166 turbos
Another run of Class 57, 57604 'pendennis castle' with updated GWR logos under the cabs.
Obviously I doubt all of these would be announced in the same year but even one would be fab!

A bit late but, incorrect, 800s are booked on some of the Paddington to Paignton trains and a couple of Paddington to Plymouth trains.
My mistake, I live in Cornwall so just assumed it was the entirety of the south west that didn't get 5 car 800s anymore, although since I made the original comment I have known of 3 or 4 of them to have come down here

Now some of the XC ones are showing spring 2020
-
Does anyone know the current due dates for the GWR and XC versions please? The Hornby website is in a bit of a muddle with different coaches saying either autumn 2019 or Winter 2019-2020 and hasn't been updated for a while. Many thanks

I’ve managed to buy 2 of each, I’ve used what I had saved for my Hattons 66’s now they’ve been delayed for a couple of months, so should be able to save up again for those. Hopefully Ben and Mike will do a second run of these in the near future as I’m sure these will be extremely popular and won’t be in stock for long! Hope you manage to save up in time for what you want Conner43002
8 hours ago, Bob83a said:According to the latest news letter there are only 100 of each of 4 numbers, I have gone for 1% of the total and shoey has 2%, so I would suggest not waiting too long.
Cheers guys, expect I'll find a way to get enough money for them, was gonna get two GWR 2+4 rakes once Hornby release the sliding door MK3s but I don't mind forfiting one for a couple of these, got a colas 70 I can part with too! That'll be enough to get me 5 JNAs at least
February announcement?

A new 153 would be very welcome, be nice to have functional BSIs to run them with the 150s & 158s. One problem with the Hornby 153s I find is the couplings are different heights and the bogie mounted plow is quite outdated.
