  1. I can be, is that an invite to come and play trains??
  2. I would say cooked chip. I have a rolling road you can borrow!
  3. Spare road for wagon works to me. somewhere to strore newly refurbished wagons on, e.g. nice shinny silver bullets!
  4. thats interesting, until what year was that 09 in service in that livery + plaques? Sorry to hear about the job Leon, hope something comes up soon? Simon
  5. Its about time Leon had an Open day! start a no 10 Gov. poll! looks great, hope one day to see it in the flesh!
  6. Its of no help to my bank balance! Shall be picking mine up Tuesday. When are the weathered ones going out to Kenrow?
  7. More of a mini exhibition, but Lord & Bulter will be having their open day(s) over the saturday + Sunday of fathers weekend. June 19th & 20th Not sure how many layouts will be there, its usually only a few but Oliver's Road R.M.D. is booked to make its debut there. Saturday is usually very busy, Sunday a bit quieter. Lord & Butler The Pumping Station Penarth Road Cardiff CF11 8TT 029 2066 7225
  8. I sold it to Leon. i had a spare one here with no sound chip so off it went, save me £96!
  9. they are stunning! Will pop down to pick some up Monday / tuesday!!
  10. Got my 10 on order, and to me the detail and price are matched. If Dapol are going to continue to market wagons, Coaches and locos to this standard i certainly will be happy to ay the premium. You get what you pay for? lol
  11. That pic of the 67 with tanks is right up my street! Although i think these will be the most expensive wagons I have baught, they look worth it to me. Thats not having seen them in the fleash. I am however prepared for them to look better in the flesh than they do in photos. I have a rake of 10 clean on order, and I think i pre-ordered the weathered ones. Got to say the clean ones are the version that has grabbed the eye. All I have done is put money by each week in preperation for the launch. Not seemed so expensive that way!
  12. That 66 does look good on there! I like tha cabin too, nice touch. With the weeds, i think you need to mix them up with other Weeds. I used the same clumps you have mixed with Woodland scenics grass (time consuming to "plant but very effective) and some pipe cleaner type bushes which i think are guagemaster? The three together look much better than just a single type to me.
  13. the one i have owes me ??50. Its not even been out of the box.
  14. are you still looking fgor a model of 66068? I have one (new, unsed) if needs be.
  15. Thanks Jim, shall have to use rule 1 of modellig railway! Saying that, I am sure in a rail express i saw a rake of clean ones behind a 66 around 2002??
  16. I am not happy with them for two reasons 1/ i want a nice shinny rake of about 10. 2/ now i want a dirty rake as well!! I think i will have to settle for less perhaps 4 or so of the weathered ones, but to me they look superb. I may change my mind when i have them in the flesh, but looking at the photos these look to like the best rtr EWS period rolling stock i have seen! Well Done Dapol.
  17. te snow has just started to fall, its quite thick so looks like time to panic haha

  18. that looks very impressive, now need a rake of those and a clean rake!!
  19. last time i baught ipa was in maplins. ??11 for a lt which will probably last me a couple of years! its different from meths, to be honest i wont use anything else now as it does such a good job. Fibre glass pencil, try Lord and Butler? or e-bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PCB-Glass-Fibre-Abrasive-Pencil-new-Unused_W0QQitemZ360219863848QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand_Tools_Equipment?hash=item53dec6eb28 I live in Skewen and have the Swansea - London line at the bottom of the Garden, though i am a member of Barry + Penarth MRC
  20. If locos are stopping on the pointwork, it could be your rails are not making contact when thrown in one direction or the other. Do you have a multimeter you can put across the track to check power? I dont rely on the rail / wipers on points for making contct and thus supplying power, but use the inbuilt switch on pm 1 point motors and thus dont have a problem (usually) with point rails. Try cleaning the wipers with a fibre brush pencil if the paint is stuck on them (hoover up fibers before running trains) and a cotton but soaked in ipa.(Isopropyl alcohol)
  21. the cctv camera kit (whitmetal) are knightwing i think. Got a new packet upstairs for olivers road, will check tomorrow.
  22. Had a few weeks off the layout building myself but just come across this layout. Looks good and looking forward to seeing the work over the coming year.
