  1. But going back to Terriers it is much more personal. You could get 3 Hornby for 2 Rails terriers. or 1 Hornby plus a coach and a couple of wagons for 1 Rails. But it then depends on the ERA and how accuracy comes into it and is firebox flicker more important than not etc. It all ends up very personal choice, I guess the Terrier is popular enough for both to exist and sell. ..... and so it goes on. p.s. I guess with modern manufacture you will always get good uns and bad uns whatever you go for.
  2. Managed to run mine today for the first time. Had to remove station footbridge first,. However seems it must be on steroids, seems to think its a HST !
  3. Interesting Rails are selling new R3809 on their ebay website for£295 ! I thought they sold all of theirs earlier
  4. According to Hattons there will be two batches of deliveries. One in Sept and another later in the year
  5. Seems to be still available for pre-order everywhere apart from Rails.
  6. We now have 3 threads on Hornby re Rocket and one on Rails, geiting a bit confusing
  7. He quotes he does in his post and Ethiad lost his luggage including his long lens
  8. It does make you wonder though if he really had all the commitments he claimed to APT, but I guess we will never know.
  9. Should hopefully get some of it back but not all !!!! I guess something is better than nothing !
  10. My late BR one arrived this morning and promptly confiscated for Fathers Day !!! Oh well missed at least one Christmas and 2 birthdays so guess I can't complain !
  11. phew its May 1st not April 1st !!! Sounds good and something to look forward to, just checked credit card details still seem to be valid against my order, Rails should have something to do !!!
  12. see thread Hornby at or above Christmas level of sales
  13. re Royal Mail seems to suggest letter delivery on Saturday suspended but no mention of parcel deliveries which come round seperately
  14. So far here in Wiltshire Royal mail here working well, tracked parcels at most 1 day extra. Other Couriers whizzing around local almost non-stop. Recent DPD and Yodel been quicker than forecast on their apps!
  15. According to Dapols website they are on the way to retailers now
  16. Maybe a SR one next ! maybe gimmicky but that's the way to get interest into the hobby.
  17. Thanks , yes I have that book just wondered if you found another source ! Also don't seem to be many good quality photos of the station building around to check the smaller details, at least I haven't found many anyway, I used to travel on the cuckoo line and remember seeing a Q1 shunting at Hailsham, the class 33 goods train that went up to Heathfield and the DMU shuttle to Eastbourne. Earlier in my life I can just vaguely remember going to London from Hellingly station, not the quickest of journeys but life was more relaxed in those days ! John
  18. Hi where did you get the drawings for the buildings from ?
  19. you could always submit a review on the Hornby website
  20. And mentioning kits to build, and paints and the Stay at Home hamper gives a good message and good free advertising for the hobby in a widely read newspaper can't do any harm either !!
  21. Seems Airfix, Hornby Trains and Humbrol paints selling well according to a quote from Lyndon Davies today. Business at Christmas levels.
  22. I think you will find that China has started a ramp up from around the beginning of March with a lag for those areas most seriously affected, so it all depends where the factories are I China. Wuhan is obviously well behind fort example.
