  1. Both power cars in the R3696 pack 43093 and 43016 are show as being retained on the Hstinfo.co.uk website.

Total of 24 power cars being retained to be use in 2+4 castle sets as indicate TGS + 3 TS.

Hornby are releasing 2 x TGS and 6 x TS with power operated doors so there will be enough for 2 sets but no guarantee as to the coach numbers being correct.

Before they were used on the Castle sets then the power cars would have been used in a 2 + 8 set, TGS, 5 x TS, buffet and a TF. these all being slam door coaches

  2. Not seen it mentioned anywhere but in the latest copy of the magazine model MR303A 1626 has had it’s shed plate changed to 83E rather that  the incorrect 84B, both apply to St Blazey but 83E is the correct one for the steam period.

Still showing 84B on the ModelRailOffers site though.

However it does say in the magazine than number and shed plate may change without notice.

It be on the website from Monday the option for the ten pounds hope this helps.

For those in a hurry to get the early delivery, Hattons have put an “Add Air Fright” button in the Product Description of the model page. pressing it adds the extra line to the order but of course you will still need to press the “Pre-Order” button for the model.

For those who have already ordered then you have to call them with your existing order number. Doing it today may save on the cost of the phone call (week-end rates):jester:

  4. NO, do not solder the TTS wires to numbers 1 to 8 as marked on the board. The pins on 21 pin sockets are in a different order to those on the 8 pin plug and also the required connections are spread over the 21 pins.

I am sure someone can provide a list of the connections that are necessary.

  5. To clarify what the instructions are trying to say/do (trying to keep it simple)

Change the LAN address of your router to 192.168.0.100 with Subnetwork Mask 255.255.255.0 (Or Subnet Prefix Length 24).

This will change the address that you need to use to access your router after the change has been made so make a record of this change for future reference.

You must use this address to make any changes to the router in the future or to monitor you Internet connection.

After making the change you will need to restart ALL equipment connected to your LAN (whether they use Ethernet and Wifi) so that any device that uses DHCP can pick up the changes that have been made. This will include the device that you connect USB connection to if it also uses the WiFi or Ethernet.

Note however that if you have any devices that have statically defined (Manually set) network addresses that you will need to reconfigure these manually (IP address between 102.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 but not 192.168.0.100 or 192.168.0.111, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.0.100, DNS probably needs to be set to 192.168.0.100 or your ISP provided value.

Changing the LAN address on the router may cause issues with the DHCP service which assigns addresses to devices which connect to the LAN/Wifi so you may need to review the DHCP settings on the router, 192.168.0.100 and/or 192.168.0.111 may be in the DHCP scope and this may cause address conflicts.

  6. just had a look at the documentation. it is full of mistakes.E.g it says to change the IP address and MAC and then gives values for the IP and  DNS.

There is no need to change the MAC and the value given for DNS is not valid. I think it should be telling you to change the IP and the Mask, the value given for the DNS is a correct value for the Mask.

So beware of the consequences of following these instructions as they are.

  7. just noticed that all the resellers have the unit numbers as W43001 and W43002. The Hornby site has W43002 and W43003. I don’t think you will get a prototype HST in the Railroad range!

RM only seem to pick up once a day, I think that it is generally in the AM. Therefore your order missed the Friday pickup and  would have been collected on the Tuesday, no pick up on the weekend or bank holiday. It should have been entered in to the RM office on the Tuesday, and looking at the timing, there is no way that it  arrived at RM on the Wednesday at 06:50AM. so it probably sat in RM on the Tuesday without being processed.

I am sure that Hattons no guarantee of same day shipping is because they have no control of the RM pick up time but it is unlikely that items ordered are passed to RM same day unless you order very early and Hattons picked it before 10 :30 or so.

Not trying to make excuses for Hattons or RM

My Zimo MX638D runs the motor, head and tail lamps as appropriate (F0) and the cab lights (F1 and F2).  All dialled in with extended addressing, amended acceleration, deceleration and speed settings.   I also use the uncoupler feature of Zimo decoders.  All these a fine.  But no headcode lights.  I have gone back to the factory setting both in DC and DCC except for extended addressing, no joy in DCC but  they work in DC.  I look forward to the official response from Kernow.

    Best regards

Have you tried resetting it by writing 3 to cv8. There was a previous discussion about the mx634d. Using this reset I think changes the D version to a C, Ie MX638C.  the aux3/4 outputs are changed from power levels to logic. It depends on which 21MTC standard is used by the model.

    The 3 sets on Tyne Yard at present are 800 006 / 9 / 12 (all 9 car)

(and at least one the wrong way round!)

At least one expected to be changed by tomorrow

    Am i missing something

The 800/0 units are all GWR 5 cars, are the number correct?. If they are GWR units then are they going for modifications or servicing.

  11. The newsletters/product updates come from their email system not the website. Or they are sent by a third party (eg Mailchimp/ConstantContact) who specialise in bulk emails.

  12. if you do not get the password change Email from the website then it has probably been throw away by your ISP as being spam, and not put in the your junk/spam folder. You probably will not get notification emails of models shipping either. this is what happen to me. I created a new account on the website using a different ISP and can change the password fine using that one.

So it is probably your ISP that is stopping the mails getting to you.

However I think that it a RevolutionTrains issue that is causing your ISP to drop the mails. there is a thing called Sender Policy Framework (SPF, no nothing to do with Sun Protection Factor).

SPF has a list of servers that can send emails from Revolution Trains and I think that at least one system which is part of the website is not listed, therefore your ISP assumes the website emails are using forged addresses. The list does include the RevolutionTrains mail system.

Incidently if you use the contact system on the website RevolutionTrains do get the message and you should get the reply.

Not all ISP’s enforce the SPF check at present so if you have a second email address/different ISP you may be able to get the notifications by changing. if your second email address is with the same ISP as the first then the change will probably not work. British  Telecom is one ISP that enforce the Check but Hotmail (Microsoft) do not or did not when I had the same problem. But SPF checking is being implemented by more and more ISP’s to stop the Spam

  13. if the estimated arrival at Southampton of the final 2 versions was correct or even close then another 1500 models should be due in Camborne shortly. So they will need some space. I am expecting the blue ones tomorrow (packed on Saturday) and therefore expect the final two to be delivered in 10 days or so.

  14. Proof reading needs to include trying web links.

On page 86 link to the behind the scenes tour of the Bachmann stand does not work.

WWW.BRMM.AG/BACH-MANNTOUR does not work. tried it with out the hyphen  which could be a formatting issue also does not work.
