IMG_3631.JPG.2da25b05904faa0608b61bb4935354cb.JPGHere the cement bags are being fork- lifted on to the Karrier artic for the last leg of their journey to the building site.  The Karrier is a Base Toys tractor unit pulling a Ledo trailer;  the cab is a bit late for the fifties, the one-piece windscreen didn't arrive until 1962, but otherwise quite a good representation.
(And it looks as if someone has borrowed his girlfriend's bike to ride to work on!)

    Best,Mike

I think the lorry being loaded up is a nice touch to the layout. I like little details like that

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2819449 is a North American example. There isn't much in the UK that resembles it. But since I know that there was some Alco switchers that were exported, adding a set of buffers on to a Lima Plymouth isnt a huge stretch.

Both locomotives look nice. Although i prefer the red Plymouth 0-4-0DH to the other one

It's basically a Plymouth MDT model with a slightly extended front platform. I haven't been able to find anything exactly like it but there are some similar locomotives out there.

It is mostly a North American prototype but there's no saying that one couldn't have made its way across the pond.

    Which locomotives look like it?

  4. I am looking for an Arnold 0-6-0 chassis for Dolgoch which i am working on. It needs to be in a good condition and runs well.

I am also looking for OO9 turnout levers.

Please reply as soon as possible and let me know if you have any of these things,

    Many thanks,

    James

Yes, that's the chassis I used originally, with a bit of a service it ran very nicely, though the large flanges on the wheels made it wobble a bit through point frogs. If caught at the wrong speed, it could easily tip over!

Mine now runs on an N-Drive chassis which is a vast improvement, with better sized wheels and prototypical valve gear.
