Hornby R30031 CLASS 87 87009 "CITY OF BIRMINGHAM"
On offer at Rails for £139.95 which from what I can see is considerably less than elsewhere.
Had to get one.

Good evening,
Can you advise what make/type of sound chip that is fitted.
Thanks
-
Looking for the above if anyone has surplus to requirements.
Thanks
-
Yes your right they didn't appear in Scotrail livery until now.
Good point about the strip being thick with the overpainting.
Probably leave it for now, Accurascale might do one 😆
-
Yes difficult to see in the available photos.
If there was anything minor as you mention I was hoping a light weathering may make it disappear.
Also with my limited knowledge of detailing etc just wondering how difficult it would be to change the band colour at the cab doors where there a few turns and twists and also over the bodyside grills.
-
Am I right in thinking the Scotrail loco livery is basically Inter City Mainline with the red band changed to blue ?
If so, reference current Bachmann 37401 or earlier 37415 and 37431 all in Inter City Mainline Livery.
If I were to change the red band to blue and obviously the number/position and add the appropriate Scotrail branding this would replicate the current Locomotives Services repaint of 37409 ?
No doubt there may be other minor differences but I'm just looking for the basic change. Not sure if the bottom half grey was a slightly different shade.

Hopefully going to start a DCC layout for the first time which will involve a lot of wire stripping etc which can be time consuming. Found the following on Toolstation, has anyone tried these out ???? Look very similiar to DCC Concepts but roughly half the price and no postage and waiting on delivery.

Looking for Bachmann Class 101 2 car in BR Blue Livery (32-288).
Even the bodies would be suitable.
Thanks

Looking at a purchase for a Scottish blue 20.
In terms of the detail pack for 048, 072 and 100.
Do they come with mini ploughs ?
Am I picking up that some can be fitted with ploughs whereas some cannot ??

Does anyone now if the above are still trading.
Have dealt with them many a time but for the last 2-3 weeks you can access the website but unable to access any categories.
Usually this happens when they go on holiday or doing a stock check but they usually post a banner with the details.
-
And finally, chassis/motor wise any differences between the old and new 21 pin versions.
-
Thanks guys.
That's convinced me to go for the newer version.
-
Good price but I've a spare sound chip I can fit.

Can anyone advise if the latest Bachmann Class 24035 tooling is any different from the Model Zone Ltd Edition model a few years back of RDB 968007, both shown as 21 pin DCC.
A couple of retailers advertise 24035 as a new tooling loco, apart from weathering and number is there actually any difference between these two.
Body/chassis detailing, do both have directional and cab lights etc ??

Adrian,
RMWEB very very slow at my end.
In the unlikely event it crashes my email is rabchambers@aol.com

For a project I'm looking for a Bachmann Class 24/0 chassis (21 pin) from a BR Blue loco if anyone has one going spare.
Would also consider a complete loco (BR Blue).
-
Thanks for that.

New to the sound scene.
I've a Loksound V4 (or V5 at a push) and wondering if anyone does a reblow for the latest Bachmann Class 45/0.
If more than one retailer the million dollar question is which is best.
Thanks

47712 did have a square headlight whilst in large logo but only briefly in spring 1985.
Thanks for that.

I thought it was just 711 and 712 of the 47/7s that ever carried Large Logo. I thought 701-710 were all in BR Blue (with grey roof) before Scotrail.
when you say headcode boxes the same, what do you mean? 701, 702, 703, 705, 707 all had flush fronts at one end in Scotrail livery - 711 gained flush fronts later when in NSE livery. 704, 706, 708-717 all had the standard arrangement of disk headcodes at one end and marker lights at the other
Gordon,
Sorry I should have been more specific.
It was the headcode box type/variations whilst in Scotrail Livery prior to any transfers south.
Was thinking of renumbering the current new tooling 712.
Thanks

Did they not both have the car headlight initially before swapping over to the standard square ones?
In Large Logo guise I thought they both had the car headlight type.
Under the impression the square type were fitted when they went in for the Scotrail Livery repaint although I stand to be corrected.
