  1. I have a Gaugemaster GM780 Scenic Sounds Module (Lineside) and am having trouble trying to stop some of the sounds from playing. I have followed the instructions but cannot get any of the sounds to stop, so I must be doing something wrong. The sound module is connected to my DCC track bus. When I turn on the Layout the sounds play continuously. I want to turn off a couple of the sounds so, with the module still connected I am pressing the 'Learn. button until it flashes the same as the number of the sound I want to stop. (ie: 12 flashes = No12). On my NCE powercab I am then pressing the 'Select Accy' button and the Default DCC address of that sound (ie 92). I then press 2 (off) to stop the sound, but it doesn't !! Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong. Any help appreciated. Kevin.
  2. About 5 years ago I bought a SQ12 mini camera which I fixed onto a flat wagon. Then when coupled to the front of a locomotive, I was able to film a 'Drivers eye' video of my OO gauge layout. This was great at the time but the film quality was never great. Now 5 years down the line and with the improvements in technology and the ever increasing use of cameras on things like drones and clothing there must be better cameras out there with 1080p or even 4k quality that are small enough to mount on a OO gauge wagon. This would then enable me to video my layout again, replacing the old footage with far superior quality images. Can anyone give me some camera ideas. Don't really want to pay any more than £100, but suggestions at any price range both cheaper and more expensive would be useful as I'm sure other readers of this forum will also be interested in the idea. Any help appreaciated. Kevin
  3. I have one of the new retooled Bachmann sound fitted locos, Class 37 423. What is the sound that can be heard when stationary everytime you press the direction button? I have a short 'shunting' layout so am changing direction a lot and find this sound a little annoying. Can it be switched off? Thanks Kevin
  4. Where two of my layout boards join there is a toggle clip on top of the layout. I use a Bachmann signalbox to cover the clip which works really well. When I have to pull the boards apart I just lift the signalbox and undo the clip. I now want to install lights into the signalbox. I know I could just connect wires through the layout board and these would have to be long enough to allow the signalbox to be lifted away. But what is the best way of making a wireless connection between the bottom of the the signalbox and the top of the layout board whereby the light comes on when the signalbox is just placed onto the board. I hope this makes sense. Any help apprecaited. Kevin
  5. My OO gauge layout based in the early 1990s has a 3 siding Freight Yard. Next to the Yard is a single track road that leads to a cripple siding. What kind of fencing or barrier would have been erected between the track and the road. A link to where you can buy it would also be useful. Thanks Kevin.
  6. Is there such a thing as a retractable cable that can be bought to connect to the NCE PowerCab. I currently use one of the curly (telephone style) cables but it is not ideal for my small office where my layout sits. Any ideas or help appreciated. Thanks Kevin.
  7. I have two baseboards which join together each has 4 pairs of wires for the DCC power, Street Lights, Point motors and Flashing lights. So I need to know where I can buy a 'plug in' connector which will join at least 8 wires from one board to the other. It must be easy to push in and pull out to allow easy separation of the boards. One side needs to sit flush to allow the boards to close up together. Even better would be a plug that is pre wired or avoids soldering. I have tried a DIN plug in the past but they are very fiddly, requires soldering and if you have a problem with a wire connection it is a real pain to find and fix. I may be asking a lot but I just want a simple solution. Any help appreciated. Kevin.
  8. My OO Gauge DCC Layout has an extension across a window (via a lift out piece of track section) to a single point into a couple of sidings. Currently I manually operate the point, but ideally would like to motorise it. The issue I have is that the only power comes from the DCC track Bus. There is no option to have a second power source. The only point motor I could use is a surfaced mounted one. So, is there an easy and fairly cheap way of wiring up one of these point motors using the DCC Bus for power. If so what else would I need to operate it either via a switch or DCC controller and how would it be wired up. Any help appreciated. Kevin.
  9. At the end of my DCC OO Gauge layout with Peco code 75 track, I have a Run Round loop which I am having trouble knowing how to power the track and what joiners are required from the two sets of Peco electrofrog points. Diagrams is enclosed. I have added track power to each of the points, but do not know whether insulated or metal connectors are needed on the point frogs of if additional track power is required on the track sections between the points. Any help appreciated. Kevin.
  10. Can someone tell where I can buy the exact red colour paint used on the British Rail logo sign. Any help appreciated. Kevin.
