Before we list anything online, we are working through what orders we can fulfil with what we have.  
once the next batch arrives (hopefully at the weekend) we will ship out what we can to anyone who has ordered items from the range delivered to date.

 

I appreciate that the wait has been frustrating, but please bear in mind, the whole batch has been remade.

The problem was identified in mid-May

 

in a little over five months, it has been rectified, tooling modified and thousands and thousands produced, packaged, shipped from China (despite continuing Covid lockdowns and shipping issues) and ready to send out.

 

That, I think, is pretty remarkable!

 

I also appreciate that people wish to be better informed, but we can only tell you what we know, which in all honesty, was not a lot.

 

so now you know what we know.

just to add , we have one red cradle pack and our yellow cradle coal pack for now. We’ve started shipping what we can so far. As a gesture on our part for the delay, we’re shipping what we can now as a part order and will then ship the remaining part of an order when the items arrive. We know you want to get these marvellous models into your hands asap!

Both the T4U and KMS versions of the “C” and “D” weathered HAAs are being worked on currently.

We were hoping we could "let the cat out the bag" with a little more detail! However, while, as Fran says, the 73/9 is not going ahead with Accurascale, this is due to the number of projects on their horizon and not due to lack of interest in this model. 

Our aim is to give more details on our stand at Model Rail Scotland at the end of February (however this will now be a bit less of a surprise!). 

While we were initially disappointed to learn that Accurascale could no longer produce the model, we are confident we have now found a manufacturer who will offer the same exacting standards we are looking for in this model.

We would encourage you to continue to fill in the EOI form HERE

EDIT - Just noticed there are quite a lot of markings missing off the livery.  One for a detailing up project rather than ready to run I think.

 

I intended to buy an IC one to Scotrail blue stripe it (there was one) but I reckon there could be a complete repaint on the cards looking at that.

 

Any sign of the blue/grey versions yet?

BTW, one of the things we get commended on most is our packaging. We have more than 20 custom sized shipping boxes and all our packaging is recyclable too! The bubble wrap is even blue (which is as close to the ScotRail Violet we use for our logo as possible!)

Hornby PRICES - 31st JULY 2021

We have been informed by Hornby that the prices across their entire range, with the exception of Humbrol, are to be increased from July 31st.

In short, Hornby have stated that the massive increase in shipping and raw material costs has forced them to increase prices to maintain profitability. They have tried to absorb the cost but as the COVID pandemic continues, costs are not forecast to reduce any time soon.

They are unable to absorb these costs any longer, and therefore have had to increase RRPs accordingly.

From the 31st July 2021, all products shipped to retailers will increase by approximately 10%.

KMS Railtech, as a growing retailer, cannot afford to absorb these costs, so unfortunately we will have to adjust our prices for from July 31st. Further to this, honouring our existing pre-order prices would put us in breach of terms with Hornby with regards to minimum discounting period of new items.

We regret that this has had to happen but it is out of our control. We suggest you contact your own retailer if you have pre-orders elsewhere, to check if those orders are impacted.

Hornby have yet to issue a new price list. We will update as soon as they do.
