Cheers Mol - top info! I had no idea that the trials shown had ever taken place with the steam crane. I think I commented on one of the other threads where someone had posted a picture of the larger floating cranes used elsewhere that you mention - or was it on this thread? Perhaps I should scroll back a bit and check!

A rival for SKF bearings this evening. There's something about that European carriage that makes me think it would be a very smooth runner (not sure what!). That's what you'd want on a sleeper though isn't it?
