I have long wanted an egg opener - you know the sort of thing that cracks off the top of your boiled ehh so you can dip your soldiers in. So I put one on my last Temu order and it arrived yesterday. So I tried it out at breakfast...
It certainly works, perhaps just a little too well?
Having a quiet day today after another bad night. I am on medication which causes me to pee a lot, and I can't seem to get back to sleep after about 4am, so pretty knackered.
Have a good day, the rest of you.
I often get the urge to have boiled or fried egg for breakfast the night before. Then I wake up & think "nah boring old Malted Wheaties" are quicker 😆

Hi to All . Just three side ings is a 71cm long by 21 cm deep and has a 50 cm fiddle stick run off . its mainly recycled layout from a gave up project and i just wanted some thing to shunt a few wagons around and have a bit of enjoyment with out to much fuss of setting up . asort of plug in and play . its really basic just a pipe bridge some back ground warehouses and at the end of the side ings is a rusty old wall with gates to a pretend scrap yard . chuck in a few bushes weeds and spiled piles of coal . there you have it . i have used a ply for the back sceen and added a removeable lid with led lighting . all insperation comes from James Hilton and his cameo type layouts and his excellent books . more to follow soon
Is that pipe bridge the Kibri kit? Would love to have something like that over the hidden fiddle yard entrance on my WIP layout!

I've watched a couple of your micro O gauge layout videos, ironically before you posted a link to your channel on here.
Being someone with an interest in American outline & cameo layouts in general, I'm looking forward to seeing it progress!

I'm really taken with this- I've a couple of standalone micro layouts under construction in N, but never even thought of doing one in 00! Ideas of a railbus/light railway micro are forming...
I've got some N gauge track & stock in a drawer. Very tempting with a Mosslanda as you say!

Still job hunting here after my shock (overnight) redundancy: Sparing the details the company directors no longer want to invest in the product I was headhunted for 18 months ago 🙄
Anyway, I've managed to do some more modelling using my spares box & creativity while we limit spending & to keep the mojo up!
For those with niche, electronic music knowledge I'm off to see The Orb tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll again soon be feeling happy & on "Little Fluffy Clouds" 😉

Here are the match-ups for the Divisional Round (essentially the quarter-finals for the Super Bowl):
Houston Texans (4) @ Baltimore Ravens (1)
Kansas City Chiefs (3) @ Buffalo Bills (2)
Green Bay Packers (7) @ San Francisco 49ers (1)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4) @ Detroit Lions (3)
With Detroit's win over the LA Rams, the Miami Dolphins now hold the unwanted record of longest post-season drought, last winning in the Wild Card Round on 30th December 2000 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Having a family relative in Texas & being a "window" fan who would support the Texans (with the ridicule that comes with), I'm genuinely amazed how well they've done this season. Don't need a star QB, just one who is consistent & the team gels with!

Very sad. I've been big a BIG user of Hattons preowned section for nearly 3 years & bar a very rare example they've all been great.
The fact that a big retailer in the hobby has had to cease trading is sad & eye opening. I do hope the employees can find similar jobs soon.

Happy Christmas all! Hope those who have railway related items on their Xmas lists get some of their wishes 😁
Hope 2024 is a good year for all as well! 2023 has been a great year personally & I'm passing on some of those positive vibes to everyone else!

For my micro layouts I usually put a layer of thin ballast on the wood, then tack track & then fill in the ballast between the sleepers.
For something <80cm in length & running slow trains there's very little noise produced so I don't need to cork or underlay the track for running at speed.

Never ever EVER use Evri, not even if your life depends on it!
Think I might have mentioned before, but where I live Evri is nearly 100% reliable & Royal Mail is 💩.
We have a new postie every month. The latest one is so lazy he cba to even go up to upper apartments & just leaves letters & parcels (including bills/brown govt) on the steps in the open foyer to get trodden/mashed/stolen by all the people coming through the front door. This combined with the fact the post never arrives before midday despite living 700 m from a delivery office!
Evri will actually attempt to deliver it to your safeplace.

Id be interested to hear how other peoples 88DS run over pointwork.
Sams stopped on every point on his layout.
Sadly this puts me off buying
I wouldn't trust someone who runs the track on carpet, without even cork underlay, with dead frog points & has quite an obvious hidden vendetta to give you an accurate review.

Never. Until Accurascale announced the 50 which is my favourite loco.
It's not cheap but compared with other releases it isn't too bad.

Hi all.
I've got an Atlas Classic GP7/GP9 chassis I found in my stash that is in perfect condition & runs sweetly. I think I took the body off for another project months back.
Would anyone know which bodies are interchangeable with this or if any can be jerry-rigged onto the chassis? Would be nice to get a shell & make a new loco.
Happy to do a little modding but don't want anything too major.
TIA!

Do children still travel to school by train?
Yes. I still see lots of teenage boys commuting to the same school I went to (in Croydon) by train.
