  1. Happy December everyone! Seasonal discounts of 5% for orders over £10 up to 15% for orders over £150 are now active on my website at Isinglass Models Default dispatch is with Royal Mail with DPD as an option if time gets critical. Andy
  2. It may be Halloween but the only scary thing about the beavertail model is how long it has taken to release! Finally all of the 3d printed parts have come together and despite the wobbles during the last year I am very happy with how this has turned out. The beavertail is now on sale on my website here: Isinglass Coronation Beavertail If the link doesn't work, you may need to visit the homepage and click through the cookie consent yada... (I don't collect or use your details but the shopping cart needs stuff etc.) As a departure from my other kits, I do include 3D printed glazing for the tail and 2 most rearward windows as they're curved making plasticard hard to fit. The rest of the side windows are rebated to accept clear plastic, matching the rest of the train. Price is the same as all my solo carriages, £52 for the body, floor and bogies, interior £11. You can opt out of the floor and/or bogies if desired. For the interior, you have the choice of either the original or the recently rebuilt carriage which has a shorter enclosed space plus a bar, making this an ideal model for modern image layouts running preservation stock. So with that, the full 9 carriage Coronation set is available on my website, giving me a few months clear to look over the Hornby offerings due next summer I will be limiting sales of this kit whilst I get used to the production without interrupting the rest of my range. My intention is for up to 10 (plus a few review copies) to be dispatched during November, more added after that based on any issues arising. One experience of the test builds. I can confirm that Glue 'n' Glaze is an excellent adhesive for 3d printed models, it just needs a little more patience than I normally show but easily allows parts to be separated, cleaned and re-fixed. On a side note, at the Newbury MRC show last weekend, the Beavertail attracted a lot of attention from young people asking what class loco it was. Just goes to show that over 80 years later, the Gresley design still looks pretty modern.
  3. Thanks for the feedback Simon, I'll see if I can progress the artic set as well!
  4. It's always great to get feedback from customers, especially when accompanied by photos. Here's one of the driving carriage variants of kit 111, , built for Chris Bradbury by David Tisdale. Photo by and (C) Chris of the carriage on his layout.

The kit is also available as a brake third or with different configurations of the driving windows.

  5. There are a couple of Barnums on my to do list, more may be added in the future.
  6. N/2mm should be a possibility Simon. I really need to sit down for a month or 2 and just focus on reworking existing models to smaller scales.
  7. Test build complete and kit 297 is now available on the Isinglass Models website. Photos attached.
  8. In the press again with a review by Tony Wright of an Isinglass RFO (kit 182) in Railway Modeller (April 23) . Aside from some printing issues that weren't picked up at packing, it's a positive review and another 3D printed carriage running on Little Bytham.   Photo by and (c) Tony Wright.

  9. I think you cracked it Mike. The direct link only works if you’ve already gone through the consent box (either accept or decline)

  11. Thanks all, not sure what the issue is but site seems to work if you go directly to home page, then search for quad
  12. After taking a look at some of my web page set up, I've tidied up the Quad art items, reduced the price and hopefully made it easier to order the set you need. There's also a discount code if you order 2 sets at once. https://www.isinglass-models.co.uk/3d-model-railway-shop#!/~/product/id=39943&prid=376&ctid=22&tp=pv I've also updated and repriced the GE quint set, also with a discount for ordering 2 or more.
  13. CAD work on the GNR 45' Clerestory luggage brake (kit 297) is just about finished, expect a test build in a few days.
  14. Thanks to Darius Aibara for using Isinglass 3d printed seats in this months BRM.
His conversion of a Dapol LMS carriage using Wizard models etched brass sides along with my seating and tables produced an excellent model.
Despite being LNER focused, I'm always happy to chat other railways and eras to either supply existing parts that fit the bill or adapt models for a better fit.

I've now added a 4 bay set of seats and tables supporting the BRM article.

  15. Today sees a new kit release , the GNR/ECJS 56' 6" Gresley Full brake, kit 144. The kit covers several diagrams, which all had similar but quite distinct features. Type 1 with narrow panels and GNR guards lookout: ECJS diagrams 35,38,39,39A, GN/NE J13,J18, GNR 286,287 Type 2 with wide panels and NER steel guards lookout: ECJS diagram 39B Type 3 with wide panels and GNR style ducket: diagrams ECJS 39C, 39E, GNR 308 Type 4 with narrow panels and NER steel ducket: diagrams ECJS 34A Carriages 109 ( diagram 38) and 135 (diagram 39E) were modified with windows for the Royal Train. As the carriages are all slightly different, this almost counts as 6 different kits, requiring a choice at purchase for the correct diagram. Always happy to chat if you need a pointer to choose the right ones. Visit my web shop for more details and to order Isinglass Models
  16. There's always work going on but here's a summary: N Gauge brake carriages are now available with other diagrams hopefully to be added before march (with a request for seating as well). I've printed some 7mm compartment seats that needed a little extra detail than in 4mm, so I'll see if those improvements scale back down. These aren't on the website yet but give me a shout if you're interested. The active 4mm kit development is still the ECJS/GNR brake vans and it looks like the sides are at a pretty good stage. This version depicts Royal train diag 39E (no 135) , wide panels, wooden ducket and windows. Rest assured I've also developed the narrow panelled versions with the options on steel or wooden duckets for both. I've added a few extra kits onto the waiting list, but next steps include getting back to the beavertail and progressing clerestory brake vans. I've also tidied up my Thompson 63' design, so there may be some new additions there too. New Years resolution ... post updates more frequently. 17. It's Founders Day! John, the creator of the Isinglass drawings range, would have been 90 today. use code FoundersDay to get 10% off all orders over £20 at https://www.isinglass-models.co.uk/3d-model-railway-shop this weekend. I have plenty of kits in stock, including the recently released tourist twins diagram 171/180.
  18. OK Simon, I've only the one ex GNR twin-artic at the moment (diagram 218b, West Riding stock). I've several more I can work on. Did yo u have a diagram in mind?
  19. Hello Simon, I'll work on the steel bodied version for you as soon as I've finished tweaking the Teak version. The 6 wheelers shouldn't be a problem to shrink. Are you looking for the original GNR bodies or the updated versions that were articulated? There were some changes to door vents, lighting and van sizes. Andy
  20. Thanks for the info Steven, must admit that this kit just happened to be the one going through CAD when I felt the need to push this project forward. I'll check the other NGS kits and try to avoid further duplication.
  21. Having recently added a couple of new Gresleys added to the 4mm kit range, a full brake and an open brake third, the full brake has been used as my prototype N Gauge vehicle. Based on diagram 113 (and other diagrams which included the Pathe cinema carriages and steel panelled version), the kit, which comes in 3 parts, has been designed to clip onto a Dapol underframe (not included). I still need to make a few tweaks, but this pretty much proves the conversion and production process for any of my 4mm kits that sit on a 60’ underframe. The full brake will be available on my website soon. Other kits will be released based on requests. If the carriage sits on a 60' frame and it's in my 4mm range, contact me and I'll add it to the conversion list.
  22. I'm pleased to say that my new website has gone live over the last few days. I'm really pleased with the professional look. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks to all of you that submitted photos. Isinglass has always been about providing a solid starting point for modellers to create their own story, whether from drawings or 3d printed kits and components. Next step, on the admin side, is to revisit the drawing catalogue with a view to making it easier to search.
  23. Isinglass Models. Suppliers of 3d printed Carriage kits and fine scale drawings mostly related to the LNER and constituent companies. Starting with over 500 scale drawings from the drawing board of the late John Edgson, our carriage kit range now exceeds 70 kits (October 22) and continues to grow. All of the CAD work and printing is completed in-house from our Thatcham base. The future isn't exclusively LNER or even ECML but all projects take time!
