I bought this when they were released from DCC Train Automation for a DCC layout I have now decided not to build. I tested it and it worked great but I have not actually used it and now have no need for it really. Ii is out of stock at the moment and I suspect some of you are waiting for one so this one of mine is up for grabs - £250 inc UK postage , sorry but I can ONLY post this to the UK. I am sorry but I am woefully unqualified to answer any questions about it so please be sure you know it is what you want.

I have quite a lot of new GF N Gauge coaches for sale, all recently bought but now I have decided on a different project. I am not sure how to price these as I don’t really want to sell them individually , probably the most sensible thing is to sell them in small batches ? Let me know if there is anything you are interested in and maybe even an offer if you like ?

I remember one model shop with some dusty fruit boxes under the shelves - next time I fire up the time machine I will check to see if there is one under the dead spiders

Hi Jason. I am not thinking of modelling the railway in 1984 but was wondering what road models were available to buy ( in 1/76 ) rather than most of the diecast cars of the time as I seem to remember it at least

Well not actually George Orwell as such … Can we assume I have a time machine and I have arrived back in 1984 - I walk into a model shop and want to buy some 1/76 model cars, vans and lorries etc for my 00 model railway - what was available then ? I assume? that the Oxford and Classix ranges were not available back then ?

I have an unused Dapol Terrier ‘Waddon’ and a Dapol GWR autocoach that have been in my display cabinet since I decided not to build an O gauge layout after all if they might suit you ?

I have a simple track layout in mind. There is a single bi-direction line that has passenger traffic with one single sided platform. Off of this same line there is a branch line that is not much used , mainly industrial. If I was to stop a longer train on the passenger platform it would foul the points to the branch line. Is this allowed in the real world ?

Sonic j50 and ESu decoder problem ?
InTheTrainShed replied to InTheTrainShed's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Can these decoders work either way around then ?? ( genuine question btw ) -
I have a Sonic J50 that ran perfectly out of the box on DC but I needed it DCC and wanted a decoder with Railcom so I decided based on the leaflet to go with the Esu. It recommends the ESu 59837. mu supplier didn’t have that but did have the 59857 which as best I could work out from the Esu website was the same chip but with ONLY the dcc protocol and none of the other control systems - fine as I only need DCC. BUT this decoder when fitted so it works needs to be the ‘wrong’ way around , that is not going to allow the body on. NB - The leaflet with the loco does not describe which is pin1 - I assume they assume the chip only fits one way so its ‘obvious’ any ideas ?

I have a ESU decoder tester that I am using for the first time - but I am not at all clear how to wire it up ? The tiny manual says i should connect it to the programming track output of my command station and then goes on to talking about motor direction LEDs. So to test that , or any functions like lights and horns etc I would need to be driving it wouldn't i ? Or ( even though it doesn't say this ) - do i connect the power inputs on the ESU tester only for reading and writing to the decoder to the programming track outputs - then remove and reattach the wires to my normal track power inputs to test drive the decoder ??? If it makes a difference the ESU tester is the 53900 and the command station I am using ( its a spare one on my work bench ) is a Digitrax Zephyr extra I want to be sure of what I am doing before I connect it as I am not keen on expensive smoke
