  1. I have become curious about radio controlled. The idea of starting with digital doesn't appeal to me. Was advised by a friend who is on this forum and has just become a member himself. Radio controlled is not yet that common in Sweden, more than with a group that runs a live team in 1/18. I a assembled Loco n Stuff, Peckett Cranmore 0-4-0 0ST in 1/35 scale. see picture below. My first question is what kind of motor should I change to? Preferably links to what I can find engine. In the process of building a facility that measures 600 x 3000mm and will run 3-4 carts at most. Rise is at most 35-40mm at 1000mm I've read through the thread and found this exemplary help from 2019. (see below) But maybe something has happened and there are now other better components? Would greatly appreciate help with a revised list of links if there are other smaller and better components. I understand radio control has come the furthest in England so I understand that may be where I will get to shop. If you have any tips on places to buy within the EU, I would be overjoyed as I live in Sweden. Namely, I have some bad experiences with postage, customs and delivery time after Brexit on car parts I bought for my old Morgan from 1967. Sincerely Michael Brane Posted November 17, 2019 (edited) This was shopping list from another thread. Single cell 3.7v battery with UM connectors - you can probably fit quite a large one in a Lima body http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/lipo_1s.html Rx41d-x-v5 DSM2/DSMX Micro Receiver with Bi-Directional ESC (pre-wired version) http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/rx_dt_land_v5.html#dt_rx41d_v5 UM battery extension lead chopped in half to give me a charging port - get another one for the charger http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/conn_picoblade.html Micro slide switch to turn it off/on (always better to charge it when it's off) http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/switch.html My controller is a Tx22 http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/tx_rail.html#tx22v2 USB charger https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-Flite-1S-USB-Li-Po-Charger-300mA-EFLC1008/352591796442?hash=item52181bd8da:g:HQMAAOSwKF9c9IfU Voltage step-up if more power is needed (you may need an Rx6x receiver to handle more voltage) http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk/regulator.html The wiring is (obviously) the important thing to get right. -Charging port and battery need to be permanently connected -Battery and Rx need to have on/off switch in between them -Rx and motor need to be connected the right way around Edited November 17, 2019 by Corbs
