  1. Have there been any further updates since to this little Scottish layout?
  2. I think it was a 'mixed train' from Wick displaying a wrong headcode and with the SPV van equipped with a through steam pipe for the passenger stock. The slide is an original which I purchased a long time ago and unfortunately I don't have any further details.
  3. Just discovered this excellent thread, so here's a contribution from me.... 24125 at Dingwall in October 1974 with a service to Inverness.
  4. Great photos and thanks for posting. Interesting to see two containers being conveyed. As far as I know these mixed trains normally only conveyed one container at a time.
  5. Hopefully somebody will have the relevant notices and be able to kindly scan and message to me or provide a useful link on the internet.
  6. Does anyone please have a copy of the BR instructions for the working of mixed trains conveying container wagons between Aberdeen, Inverness and Wick from early 1984 until sometime in 1985? This traffic flow was conveyed using a small fleet of (five?) container wagons equipped with 'through pipes' for vacuum brakes and steam heating. Attached is a photo I took of 40015 on arrival at Inverness with 1N27 13.55 Aberdeen to Inverness 'mixed train' on Saturday 5th May 1984. Note the container wagon behind the loco. Many thanks Mark
  7. Guys many thanks for your replies. I'm using the latest versions of Google Chrome and Windows 10 and still no go....
  8. Hi, Forgive me if this has already been asked, but what has happened to the UK Model Shops Directory website - www.ukmodelshops.co.uk which was up and running until only a few months ago? I always found this website to be very useful for listings of exhibitions and swapmeets. Mark
  9. Hi, Can anyone please recommend a suitable model or kit for Highland Railway Platform Lamps in 4mm scale? I know Lochgorm Kits used to do such a kit (HL124) but sadly the company are no longer trading. Any help would be very much appreciated. Mark
  10. Always good to see another Scottish layout and well done!
  11. All, Many thanks for your replies and some very useful ideas. Mark
  12. Hi, Could anyone please recommend the best way to align and join two 6mm plywood framed baseboards together using Brass Pattern Makers Dowels? Many thanks Mark
  13. Hi Richard, Many thanks for your reply. Is the platform 'running in board' structure scratch built or a kit? Kind regards Mark
