Birmingham was a popular place for copping Hoovers when I lived up north. They pop up round here in Notts a lot these days thanks to Boden Rail being in the area.
I remember seeing them at Olton station, on the outskirts of Birmingham heading into New Street. 7.53pm I recall. For some reason I always seemed to see Bulwark or Triumph. Sad those days have gone.

For me, if I preordered something and is expecting to get it, I would honestly treat that money as not existing anymore.
Totally understand your point. However, with respect, if I’d had more notice that 89001 was going to come out of my May pay packet, I would have delayed my purchase of 50017 for a month.
I knew the payment was coming, of course I did, but I would hope that a way for more forewarning can be introduced in the future.

A heads up would have been nice. Nearly £200 leaving your bank account before a bank holiday, without warning, is a bit of a shocker.

I’ve had the money taken out of my bank as well, is this right?

Decided to bite the bullet and go for my 3rd 50, 017 in NSE as I saw her at Saltley when she was freshly painted.
Disaster though, she was sold out! However, I’ve been saved by by favourite local model shop in Exmouth!

Am tempted to get into TT, but I’d need some LNWR to go with it!

This is what I remember best 50003at St Davids.
Fran, when are you going to put us out of our misery and announce the next batch? 🤣

I’d love models of the last 50s I saw in active service at St. Davids:
D400
50003, 50029 and 50033 revised NSE
50031 Large logo
One of my retirement pipe dreams (5 years, 9 months and 28 days- not that I’m counting) is to make a model of St Davids shed on that day when I saw the 50s for the last time.
I very nearly bought the Hornby version of 033, glad I held off.
I thought 50017 looked awful. I used to see her at Tyseley. However, put me down for one! 🤣

Having received my Mark 2bs yesterday, I would say all Mark 2 variants! The quality of these coaches takes things to a new level.
Oh and obviously some 40s to pull them!

My 2bs have arrived . Wow! Lighting looks great on them. Detail is amazing. Coupling options are fantastic.
Really sets the standard for all future coaches. It shows what can be done with care, attention and a focus on getting things right.
I went for blue/ grey, to remind me of excursions I used to go on with my dad. Absolutely thrilled.
Cant wait for my 50s to arrive to pull them.
Thankyou accurascale.

I’ve got 2 on order but so tempted with 50017. I remember seeing her go past me at Saltley in that livery thinking ‘what the hell’. Was the first NSE I saw, a bit of a shock after large logo!
Are there any plans for other suprised in this batch?

Hopefully announcement is more Class 50s

What you need is a beat up class 31, as used extensively for ballast work in the West Midlands back in the day.
There is more than one manufacturer of class 31s, but I have an order with Accurascale !!!
EDIT
Not sure if this link will work but here is a Flickr image of a West Midlands electrification train of the type the "special" wagon was used in.
The Flickr user is Richard Norris and the caption reads
A nice colourful image in fine evening light.....31119 (D5537) +31101 (D5518) Northfield OTP Depot-Lichfield City via Burton on Trent electrification train Saltley 12 June 1991
I needed an excuse to buy an accurascale 31. Thank you! 👍👍
