  1. An interesting comparison was enabled on the test track at Lawlogg recently when it became possible to bring together three different examples of the famous GWR ‘Flying Banana’ railcars, first introduced in 1933. https://lawlogg.uk/2024/04/22/a-bunch-of-bananas/
  2. A member of Lawlogg recently received the eagerly anticipated ‘Black 5’ locomotive from Ellis Clark Trains, which is showcased on the test track in a fleeting glimpse. Ellis Clark 'Black 5' - First Trials (Fleeting glimpse!) The club is preparing for upcoming exhibitions, such as the Modern Image ‘O’ Gauge Show and Rainhill Show. Meanwhile, various layouts like Dunball to St Monicas, Ballan Road and Fernhill Junction are being operated and upgraded.
  3. We've been learning from car customisers and turning to wrapping for cost-effective upgrades, as seen in our club treasurer’s project to modernise old coaches. The process involved a wrap, new bogies, and other additions, with significant cost savings compared to purchasing new models. Our members can learn more in the club’s upcoming magazine but a summary and some pictures are presented for others to see here.
  4. That's a wrap! Model railway enthusiasts are learning from car customisers and turning to wrapping for cost-effective upgrades, as seen in our club treasurer’s project to modernise old coaches. The process involved a wrap, new bogies, and other additions, with significant cost savings compared to purchasing new models. Members can learn more in the club’s upcoming magazine but a summary and some pictures are presented here.
  5. Video: A Trial Run from Dunball Wharf station to St. Monica's station. Here's a link to today's news article on our website that contains a little video showing a test run after some re-wiring. https://lawlogg.uk/2023/11/05/a-trial-run-from-dunball-wharf-station-to-st-monicas-station/ If you're a FaceBook user, we've also set up a 'page' which you might want to 'like' and 'follow' to receive automatic updates into your FaceBook feed. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552849605530
  6. Updated Name & New Website Location! We were informed a little while back that our existing web host would be closing at the end of August. Therefore, we decided to create a new website location and also to update our club name to include 'Liverpool' at the same time, so as to reduce potential confusion over where the group has actually been located since 1956. (From the 1974 boundary changes, Liverpool has been in Merseyside, while the western side of Lancashire now extends from the eastern & northern boundaries of Merseyside right up to the southern tip of the Lake District, so it was about time we clarified it! 😜 ) After setting up the new site, VistaPrint (which bought our former web host a few years ago) has now said that the websites previously hosted there have now been sold to another host company. (Confusion all round!) Recently, our old website disappeared, then re-appeared, albeit with completely chaotic formatting and unclickable links (including the link to our new website) but has currently disappeared again. (Who knows what'll happen next?!) Anyway, if you maintain (or know of) a previous link to the former site of West Lancs. 'O' Gauge Group, please could you amend it to the new site of Liverpool And West Lancs. 'O' Gauge Group at LAWLOGG.UK (<< click through) Please pass it on! Thanks!
