Thank you all for your replies, all very helpful for me going forward with my next layout.

Hi all, I've finished my first layout and learnt a great deal and before I start my next project (I'm leaning toward 009) I would like to know the best way to join the last 2 pieces of track as once pinned down there is no movement available. With my first layout I ended up with the last 2 pieces butted up and I dropped some solder in the gaps, was this right?. Unfortunately I don't have anyone I can ask and my local model shops have both closed down. Any suggestions will be gratefully received
