I have an 8ft x 6ft space in a spare bedroom that I would like to build a small layout in. My intention is to have 2 main boards to make 7ft long by 2ft 6" ft wide with a 3 ft by 2 ft traverser fiddle yard set at 90 degrees to the man boards at the left hand end of the layout. It would be a small branch line terminus with 1 main platform & a bay platform, together with a number of sidings to do shunting in. Was planning on a maximum passenger train length of 2 coaches plus small loco or 2 car DMU, but most often it would be a single loco & auto-coach or a rail car. Freight trains would be about 6 wagons or so plus engine & brakevan. I would prefer to have it in OO gauge, but I would consider going down to N gauge. What do people think to my plan?
