Hello,
DCC novice here. This is my first attempt and running anything DCC and have run into an issue
After deciding to get back into the hobby again after 20 years I have decided to go down the DCC route. All my locos are DC and was planning on converting my Bachmann 56xx (32-079) to DCC. It is only when I opened this up that i found what looks to be a DCC socket and I did not believe this to be a DCC ready loco as it mentions it nowhere in the instructions or box.
I have bought myself a 2nd hand Bachmann EZ command controller from ebay and a zimo mx600r decoder. when fitting the decoder there weres no markings on the socket to indicate pin 1 so I went for my best guess.
When turning on the controller and selecting address #3 the loco went at full speed. I have managed to re-programme the decoder to address 1 and can change direction however the speed seems to be set to full no matter what I do with the speed selected.
Then for a period of about a minute I was able to control the speed but the loco would not come to a stand when throttle was reduced, I took the loco of the track and when I put it back on it was back at full speed
Has anyone had similar issues to this in the past or able to offer any advice?
Kind regards,
A DCC novice
