Recently picked up a second-hand Dapol N-gauge 57XX and on its first run, after a couple of minutes it started giving out smoke (from under the chassis, not the chinney!) and smells strongly of electrical burning. I took it off the track immediately but not sure not to do next. I'm just beginning to dip my toes into N-gauge model railways, but wondered whether anyone might have an idea of what's gone wrong? Could the motor have burnt out? I'm using a Gaugemaster model D controller on an oval of Peco track.
