  1. Plus the Brake van. Well worth being woken for. I'm hoping to have a play with the airbrush myself at some point, wiil send film to Trueprint so I will have some one to blame for the results. Regards Brian ( wireman )
  2. Having settled in for a short afternoon nap after a brief walk on the local nature reserve this morning, I was woken by the arrival of several pictures received on my mobile via What's app. Having grown up with having to send my camera film to True print or one of the other similar companies, waiting a week or so to find that all the pictures were rubbish, I never fail to marvel at the technology that enables people to send photos. to others the moment they have been taken. These are just such a case. Hot from the phone are before and after shots of 6816 Frankton Grange, obviously Nick does not need an afternoon nap and sees no reason why any one else should. So, Frampton grange. Before and after. Regards Brian.
  3. Just returned from a Two and a half hour bird cruise around Poole harbour in one of the local tourist boats. Having now spent an hour in front of the fire at home, use of my fingers etc is now returning. It did though, remind me that I had intended to put on here the picture of Sea gulls at Wimhill. ( These have not been weathered. ) The standing gull seems to have very large feet, may have to manicure them next visit. And finally. Nearly there. Mid summer 2020 ? Very happy Christmas and new year. Regards Brian. ( wireman )
  4. Another picture of the Auto coach, plus the new bus stop at Wimhill beach. More figures are required along this very popular beach area. Regards Brian. ( wireman )
  5. I must start today by making it clear that neither Nick or myself have, apart from being customers, any connection with Model Railway Solutions from whom the Bachmann crane was purchased. Now, my own class 45. This is an elderly Bachmann model and although I have always liked it, Nicks weathering has brought it to life Plus his own Auto coach, still more to do on this but really looks the part with the Pannier.
  6. More weathering during todays visit to Coleborne, plus a bus shelter for the Wimhill beach visiters plus a few seagulls, attracted by the chip shop probably. BUT FIRST. What can I say. £ 210 .00 from Model Railway Solutions. Poole. I believe this is probably the best price in the country. Incredible model. My class 45 did find room in the queue at the spray booth today. Pictures tomorrow. Regards Brian ( wireman ).
  7. I had forgotten to mention during my last few entries, that Nick and I were once again able to participate in the Southern Locomotives Ltd drive and fire days held in November, so as an antidote to the diesels and western region things happening recently here is an in cab picture of Sir Kieth Park during our turn. As always, thanks must go to the Swanage railway staff without whom these events would not be possible. In this picture, the loco has just uncoupled and the swanage driver is starting the run round of the coaches. Good old Bulleid pacifics. Just thinking though, I have a class 45 which could benefit from a dusting with an air brush. Diesels are not to bad as long as they are green. Regards Brian ( wireman )
  8. These few picture were taken during our Wednesday visit this week. First, the Hall which was shown last week after its initial weathering, now with new name plates, crew and coal plus more detailed weathering effects. PLus 4575 after similar treatment
  9. New name plates have been ordered for this loco and together with a little real coal in the tender and loco crewe added will really look the part. what's next for the treatment. Who knows. Regards Brian. ( wireman ).
  10. More weathering this week, plus the pictures of the spray booth missed on the previous entry.
  11. Despite lack of entries recently, progress continues. The most recent aquisition has been a spray bay booth to enable use of the spray gun purchased a while ago. The first picture is of the booth, then a couple of pictures of Nicks first attemps at weathering.
  12. Hi Scott, I have 4 x DCC80 units on Brampton road if you want drop in and see them. Cheers Brian.
  13. And these are the three new ones. Approaching Wimhill. No more signals or illuminated buffer stops. Regards Brian ( wireman )
  14. I had forgotten to include a picture of the new water tower outside of the the small Wimhill loco shed from last weeks visit. So here it is. Next, the three signals between Coleborne and Wimhill. Despite Nicks declaration of never building signals again. these have appeard since last week and during the afternoon were fitted to the in the appropriate places. First, last weeks Wimhill signals firmly planted.
  15. In between beach walks, bush pruning, window cleaning etc. I finished assy. and fitting the station lamp post over the weekend. These are ratio kits of the concrete products of Exmouth Junction. I need more people seats and things for the platforms having used up quite a few around the bus area but am trying to avoid buying more of the ones I have. There are only so many twins and triplets around. Plus trees at the platform end. Off to Coleborne Junction this afternoon, hopefully a few more pictures from there. Regards Brian. ( wireman )
  16. Hi Andrew. It is the brake rigging from Manston. Yep bit big for 00. Thanks for comments. Brian.
  17. A new addition to Brampton Road. West Country, Bideford. I have fitted a Zimo sound chip which was removed from Weymouth. Weymouth has now been retired. Happens to us all. As normal the brake rodding etc. came in the accessory pack. This set is actually for B.B. Manston. No one will notice. Regards Brian. ( wireman )
  18. The next two pictures are of the Wimhill station signals. these still require fixing to the baseboard so may not be quite upright. They are both from Ratio kits and I am informed not that easy to build. As always, Nick is never going to make anymore signals, although thats what he said last time and the time before that. Between Wimhill and Coleborne the line still needs a couple of distant signals plus an outer home down at Coleborne, have to wait and see. This class 4 seems to be .everywhere. Regards Brian. ( wireman )
  19. The staff member on the crossing is obviously still drunk.
  20. Signals are on the way. Meanwhile the train spotters are obviously not interested in BR standards. In the face of public opinion, (Nick told me to do it ), I have dimmed the lamps on the buffer stops , as can been seen in previous post, three variations are possible using the small PCB supplied. Regards Brian. ( wireman ).
  21. Time over the weekend to add a little detail under the canopy. I have also nearly made all of the concrete platform lamps, hope to fit these before the weekend. Regards Brian. (wireman )
  22. As I mentioned on my recent entry on the Coleborne Junction thread, little progress has been made during the summer break, during which my wife and I took a TGV train fom Paris to Bordeaux and at one time the coach information screen showed the train travelling at 314 kmh. During the two hours or so journey, speed rarely dropped below 290 - 300 Kmh. Back to Brampton road. I have added a back wall to platform 1under the new canopy plus completed the concrete fencing to the end of the platform. Over the weekend I hope to add posters, timetables seats and people under the canopy, plus finish the Southern style concrete lamp post. Hopefully Nick ( Coleborne Junction ) and I will have a drive and fire turn at Swanage in November. 25 mph max. Much more fun than a TGV. Regards Brian. ( wireman ).
