  3. Hi Keith, Thanks for your reply. I think building the bulkhead most difficult, getting the pieces correct and square, but as it was my first built kit and these were the first parts to be built maybe that's why. I also found the fitting of the stern piece needed some trimming and testing to fit ideally, The instructions are very clear to follow stating which pieces need medium or thick card. The time consuming bit is glueing the printed papers to card then cutting out the relevant pieces. Yes I will be adding handling equipment and am currently looking at the Bachmann and Kibri models. I have about built about 100 containers - 20ft and 40ft. These I bought from Goodwood Scenics - they have good variety available. MalcT
  4. Hi Greg, I don't know how to draw a line, I select a rectangle and try to keep it as thin as possible. On the left just below the ribbon of icons, there is a drop down box where it says the track type you have used (PECO 100), select figures at the bottom, then rectangle. Place the cursor on the layout where you want the line to start and move cursor to where it ends. A pop up box allows you to choose a colour. Selecting a rectangle allow you to fill in colour. If you right click on the rectangle a pop up box opens and you can select rotate and select any angle you want- maybe creating several of these would work. MalcT

  6. I'm fairly new to the forum, but have spent several months following and watching various threads and I am a complete newbie to railway modelling. On my layout I want to include a dock scene with a container terminal so decided to purchase the Scalescenes container ship, This is the first kit I have built and I'm really pleased with my efforts. In total it took me about 40 hours to build. The completed model is 905mm long. The containers are pre-printed card purchased from Goodwood Scenics, just fold and glue.

  20. Good day folks, Recently retired and started on my layout. Spend a lot of time reading threads on this forum, lots of books and magazines for inspiration and knowledge. Being a newbie I doubt my contribution will be much. I'm building OO gauge, modern era and going DCC.
