L2's are great!

Also noticed the L6 line that heads to Rye House is slowly having its old quads removed but this L6 BB D tower has escaped any such treatment.

Hello all, paid a visit to Waltham Cross Sub Station today and i was not disappointed.

L6 Balfour Beatty towers making their film debut in 1983!!

Indeed! And a sneaky class 159 on a service to either Exeter or Bristol

An L2 D10 with a height extension just next to the mainline down to the South West

Amazing area just under the M25 along the River Wey. Featuring a very short L3 line

Also found a sneaky new view of West Weybridge!! This is probably the best view u can get with everything in one shot

Not heard of that but they do tend to phase out quads for twin or triple bundles now on the L6s depending on loading I guess. I know someone who may know so will try ask and report back if hear anything.

Out of interest, ive heard that the Cowley East Claydon line is being re-strung, is the Cowley-Seven Springs line keeping its quad bundles??

Just got back from visiting West Weybridge Substation

Out of interest is any of the Cowley-Seven Springs route 4TE, being put underground in the Cotswold area, worried about those L9s

I don't think many L2s will get the chop only some on route ZG from HK and where the new T pylon line branches and heads off towards Avonmouth. The L2 VQ line is going to be uprated from 275kV to 400kV and where this turns to head south towards Taunton a new tee will be inserted and this new section of line will run north towards the existing ZG line and join back up there. So between the two points on ZG some L2 towers will sadly go. Progress of sorts I guess. Still not sold on this T pylon design mind you....

Ahh yes my mistake, Only just found out the route was between Seabank and HK. I'm guessing the new L12s will upgrade the middle line. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who isn't completely in favor of the T pylon

I didnt know this had happened to the L9s up at inverkip but if u go to 2:02, you will see an abandoned L9 LD30 lying on its side

Throwback to 2019 and both L6 lines at dungeness now have triple cables from each insulator!
