  2. New Video - The Malton Colliery Wagonway The Malton Colliery Wagonway was a narrow gauge railway that linked the drift mines around Malton Colliery with the main colliery. It was located near the town of Lanchester in Co. Durham. Please click the link below to watch the video
  3. I've mentioned elsewhere that I had a couple of new 009 locomotive kits to release today. These are as follows.... Up first is "Mini Beddgelert" a Hunslet saddle tank with motion covers designed to fit the Kato 11-105 chassis. This is followed by cut down Hunslet side tank "Russ". This is loosely based on Russell as it appeared after its height was reduced to run on the Ffestiniog railway. And finally we have a mini Hunslet "Eva" These models will also be available from my eBay shop here
  4. The third and final video in my series on the Lanchester Valley Railway is now ready to view by clicking the below link. This video covers the section from Lanchester to Consett.

  9. New 009 scenic item kit. For a while now, I've wanted to branch out into making scenic items as well as locomotive & rolling stock kits. With this in mind, I'm pleased to finally be able to release my first scenic kit. A generic 009 steam locomotive boiler. This could be used as a Stationary/ scrap or under restoration boiler. You can get this from either of the below links. Website eBay
  10. WOW! That looks amazing Mark, thanks for posting
  11. New 009 Kit! For a while now, I've wanted to do a more accurate model of the Clogher Valley Railway's Sharp Stewart tank engines. The railway had 6 of these engines, sadly none of which survive. They were built to run cab first and were turned on a turntable at each end of the line. They were also fitted with large cow catches at the rear only. On my model, this is an optional extra, and you can fit another coupling instead. The kit can be purchased from my online shop here or from my eBay page
  12. Huge thanks to everyone who has ordered off me recently. I'm working round the clock to print and post everything. For those who may have missed it, I'm currently running a sale on my website. Use the code NEWYEAR22 to get 22% off your order.

Also, I thought now would be a good opportunity to launch a new model. I wanted to make something a bit different. So, say hello to the Sentinel steam wagon. It comes with a number of separately fitted parts, which the builder can add if they choose, such as, axle details, a lamp, steps for the cab and boiler. The model uses the Kato 108 chassis and can be purchased from either of the below links. Website eBay
  14. New Video! I haven't really been able to get out recently to record any new content. So for my last video of the year, I thought I'd produce a look back at 2021. With clips from my favourite galas & events. There's a mix of standard gauge, narrow gauge & miniature. Featuring both mainline and industrial steam.

We're going to be taking a short break over the festive period and will reopen in the new year. We'll still be accepting orders. But, nothing will be processed till the first week in January. 17. A few weeks back I visited the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. One of the exhibits was “Wylam Dilly”. It was built by William Hedley, with the assistance of Timothy Hackworth in 1815. The engine operated on the Wylam Waggonway, west of Newcastle. In 1815 the engine was rebuilt with eight wheels as it was too heavy for the cast iron rails of the waggonway. It was returned to its original four wheel configuration in 1830 when the waggonway was relaid. “Wylam Dilly” is the younger sister of “Puffing Billy” which was built around 1814, also for the Wylam Waggonway. The original “Puffing Billy” is located in the Science Museum, London. A replica is also in operation at Beamish museum. And, another replica exists in Germany. Until 2008 it was thought that “Wylam Dilly” was the oldest surviving steam locomotive in the world. It has now been confirmed that “Puffing Billy” is the older of the two. In 1822 the locomotives was temporarily used to power a paddle steamer on the River Tyne. Wylam Colliery closed in 1862 and the locomotive was transferred to Craghead Colliery where it stayed till it was withdrawn in 1883. Upon withdrawal, the engine was gifted to the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh, where it remains on static display to this day. I’ve included a shot of the replica “Puffing Billy” on a rake of Chaldron wagons to illustrate what “Wylam Dilly” would have looked like in service.

  25. Just a quick update on a few things.... The first and most important; I'm aware there is an intermittent issue with the postage on my eBay shop. If you encounter an error while checking out, please private message me, and I'll work to resolve this for you. eBay have been informed of the issue, and they assure me that it will be fixed in the next 3-4 days. Next, the deadline for Christmas orders will be Friday the 10th of December. I will continue to post after this date, but I can't guarantee they'll arrive for Christmas. Get your order in early to avoid disappointment. And lastly and most excitingly, I currently have a number of new kits in development in 3 different scales (009, 00 & 0-16.5) I don't have any release dates yet, so please keep your eyes peeled! Thank you!
