I want one .... Mrs B wasn't too keen when I suggested the colour scheme for one of our houses, this particular one had wooden windows to.... I did venture to say that cream and green would look nicer than plain white and black
I’d like to do the house like it, but I’d probably better not push things too far! 😄

Apologies if I’ve posted this already, I don’t think I have but I’m not entirely sure.
Anyway it was my turn to pick the colour scheme for our garden cabin this time…
I don’t what you think you’re seeing but I can assure you that it’s just a coincidence. 😉

That's great news if it goes ahead!
I'll book a space by the barrier straight away 😉
I must admit that I am slightly cacking it…- 2

Update time.
Well I have pulled my finger out and repaired a few things on the railway over the last couple of months.
Honestly you really do have to keep on top of the maintenance because it starts to get a bit overwhelming if you’re not careful! I snapped a load of wires on my telegraph poles a while ago and trying to repair them got me wondering how I found the patience to do them in the first place..?
The loco fleet has been steadily expanding over the last few months and the most recent addition has been a GF class 25 which I think looks very at home on the layout.
In other news Lapford is hopefully going to be attending the Exeter model railway show in June next year for a one time only appearance and I’m slightly cr@pping myself at the thought of it but the Moors View team have all operated it and we should be able to do it justice. 😉
I made a couple of YouTube videos over the weekend, so if you like that kind of they’re here:

I found that one a while back and kept a note! It's in the Derby Sulzers website, about ½ way down this page.

That’s the one. Thanks Rich! 👍

But then the thought of ballasting all those points hits home… 😉

There was a large french automated layout at Warley a couple of years back. I first approached it from the rear and thought it looked odd for a layout. Then I realised it was a fully scenic fiddle yard and the layout proper was round the other side.
It’s something I’ve considered doing at times. With some houses on a backscene it could make quite a passable model of Goodrington Sidings.- 2

Just when you think you must have seen nearly every interesting photo from around Exeter back then this one turns up!Somewhere online is a photo of a 25/33 pairing at Lapford heading to Barnstaple but for the life of me I can’t find it anywhere now.

Excellent news about the 47 upgrade. I’ll definitely be getting a sound fitted version next year.

A couple from me (including my new ‘LAPFORD’ painted stones sign which was a flipping nightmare to make).
A 33/1 shunting in the station area as Wayne heads north in his knackered Transit:
And a view through the arch (which once contained an abattoir many years ago):

It looks like it’s ram-raided the railway equivalent of Halfords. 😉

I'm off the road today with Dawlish Warren. We will be at the Swindon Steam museum this weekend. I'm about to go and pick up a long wheelbase van and then try to load four layouts onto it, Dawlish Warren plus three Warley club layouts. I'm sure that will make an interesting start to the day!
Evening Chris. How did the show go?

I add gulls, it brings a smile. I also sometimes play a skylark and then look up at the rafters to try and get others looking up.
I took my little mini speaker up to the Stafford show and played gently howling wind noises in the background through it for a bit on the Saturday.
On the Sunday though, I again asked Paul if he wanted some more background wind noises and when he said yes I queued up a farting soundtrack instead. It took a couple of minutes of everyone looking quizzically at each other before he clocked on to what I’d done. 😉

Do you have some sort of agreement with exhibitions to have a cold chill blowing past anyone watching Moors View?
I swear whenever I get close to it I feel like I am actually out in a wintery moor wearing a t-shirt.
We’ve recently been considering getting some low level fans to blow cold air up your trouser legs Marilyn Monroe style…- 5

Brilliant show. We’re there with Moors View and the quality of layouts is incredibly high. Chatted to lots of nice people today and really looking forward to tomorrow. Well done to everyone involved in organising it!

I guess very early 1970s for the original livery, with it being phased out when 97201 and 97406 were withdrawn around 1987 maybe?
After that the RTC 31s - the fire destroyed 97203 and it’s replacement (97204) wore the newer version of the Technical Centre livery, along with their associated rolling stock I believe?
