  1. Many thanks for the replies guys. I used a multimeter and found that the marker lights were running at 12volt, tail light actually ok at just over 3volt. Therefore I put in a 1.3k resistor between the PCB and lighting board on the marker lights wire and all is well now. I'm still slightly confused why swapping to a DCC Ready PCB caused this problem given the lighting board is the same! However all a learning curve so thanks for your help!
  2. I'm new to DCC and by no means an electronics expert and was wanting to fit sound to a Hornby DCC Fitted Pendolino. My thinking was to get a new DCC Ready main PCB to get round the 6 pin issue, all swapped over and going well until I switched the lights on, the LED marker lights are running too bright and are accompanied by a burning smell! To the best of my knowledge the motors and light boards are the same in the DCC Fitted and Ready models so my assumption was that swapping the PCB would work? Sounds and movement appear ok, although I must admit I didn't try for too long in case the problem affecting the lights was about to cook the sound chip or motor. Sound chip is a Loksound v5 btw. Hopefully someone will have some ideas what the problem might be, thanks in advance. Darran
