  1. Hi Scott nice looking scene please stick with this one,the subject has so much potential!!! I think you should buy something at Basingstoke.
  2. Hi Andy thanks for your comments glad you found us,hope you enjoy reading the other pages Nick
  3. Hi Scott thanks for your comments. The ground cover was good fun to do,i use a mixture of woodland fine ballast, fine cinders some pollyfiller and a number of shades of paints and dyes and real ash the end result is just how you want it to be, just play around and experiment. It's the first time that i had done this and if i had to give any tips it would be dont rush it just let things dry before the next step. Regards Nick
  4. Welcome onboard the Coleborne site Westerham station thanks for your comments. Nick.
  5. Hi Terry, thanks for the comments. I think it's a good idea to detail the inside. We scratch-built the lever frame and the bell and indicator shelf, and used a Wills detail kit for all the other components. It's also important to illuminate the box to highlight the internal detail. Good luck with your project! Regards, Nick
  6. Thanks Griff, i must say how glad i am to have finished both projects,as they take so long to construct, thanks Nick
  7. Hi Griff thanks for the information on the window frames, we lean something new every day. thanks Nick.
  8. Hi, thanks for the pictures Scott. The signalbox is not modelled on any actual location, but hopefully resembles something along the lines of an S.R. signalbox. I did use some reference books to create the model. Any comments are always appreciated. Nick
  9. well done Scott nice job again (maybe colour next time )
  10. Hi guys now the canopys are out the way, an up date on the next projects. We are building a new signal box for the main junction, this is being constructed from the metcalfe range and scratch building the top half and roof to a southern region look and colour ( hopefully ) Also we need to finish the detail work on the loco shed, and finally to get the turntable running smoothly. Then maybe we can cary on building the branch line up to Wimhill Lane G.W.R. Hopefully Scott will place a few more pictures on soon Nick.
  11. Hi not a problem good to hear from you.Look out for the new S.R. pillbox brake Nick
  12. Hi guys i think the dilemma of the of the G.W. brake is that the goods has come down from Wimhill Lane (the branch which is G.W.R.) or just happy hour? Yes we must change it for a Queen Mary or maybe one of the new Bachmann S.R. pillbox vans that are now available (hope we got away with that ) Nick
  13. Hi guys many thanks for the great comments, much appreciated. Ido think that happy hours are good fun, run what you fancy. well done to Scott, for the fab photos look forward to seeing more. Nick

  15. Hi guys just a quick update from coleborne, first may thank Scott for the latest pictures and thank you Earl Bathhurst for your comments. At the moment we are still working on the station details, such as seats, concrete lamp posts with totem sigins, water cranes and the everlasting third ( of four ) canopys (platforms 3&4 ) This time we keeped a log of the hours spent working on this project , and todate its about 63 hours (just very slow) Hope that Scott, are P.R man.will give us some more of his fantastic pictures soon ( please ) Nick.
  16. Hi Scott yes we did miss the P.R. member last night, however progress, I have started canopy number 3, Wireman is building the water cranes on the ends of the platforms., we did manage to knock two of the lamp post over, and pooleboy is fitting the wooden strips in the stock draws, and still managed to suckup with the Henery two seats off of platform 1&2 ,good night really see you soon oh we need more pic,s please. Nick.
  17. Hi thanks for your comment,we are constructing number 3 at the moment. Nick.
  18. Hi Paul we had the same problem with the deck catching i think at first we had cut the hole to tight , so we removed the well and eased the hole , but still had the same problem, we also lined the well with brick paper which didn,t help so we ended up easing the ends of the deck. We still have the problem of the drive ,which we are going to try using a solid drive rod (4mm silver steel) and coupling . Fingers crossed!!! Nick
  19. hi Paul not really sure how we will solve this problem or indeed what the problem actually is. I think the Peco TT is a really good looking model ,but driving plastic components can difficult. With are TT it all seems free running until we connect the motor. If we come up with a successful anwser we will be pleased to let you know.Trezeath is looking very nice. Nick.
  20. Hi Paul i think your right there are shades of Broadstone in that footbridge.
  21. Hi Rich Many thanks for your comments. The ash in and around the shed and the disposal area has been created by using real ash from my wood burning stove. I filled an old ice cream container with selected ash, selected being, the differing shades e.g. white , light gray, dark gray, black, and if more cinders are needed i used woodland senics fine cinders . The application of the ash is the same as ballasting, form the shape you require, mist with water then add P.V.A leave for about 48 hour ,job complete.Hope this has been some help, lets know how you get on,good luck. Nick.
  22. Hi all update on Colborne. Our freind Brian (the painter) has made some more progess on the back scene of Colborne town, think it looks very good. Brian ( wireman) is making good progress with the island platform buildings, They are made from modified superquick card kits . He is also fitting a motor to the turntable, some problem with drive coupling. We are also building the second conopy around the ticket office/main entrance , hopefully Scott (pitbull) the film director will take some pics of the construction. Graham (Pooleboy) has been working on the stations running in board nice job ,the names we had printed by Station signs (really good). Hope to have more news and pics soon. Nick
