  1. Oh, just as an aside, I've finally got some plasticard, so I'll be making a start on the body for the Garratt over the next week or so.
  2. Time Flies By (When You're The Driver Of A Train) - Half Man Half Biscuit
  3. Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)? - The Buzzcocks
  4. Heart Full Of Soul - The Yardbirds
  5. I know I'm going to be called a heretic, but I prefer the version by The Pogues. Come to think of it, there's quite a few good versions of old folk songs on their albums
  6. That's a question I'll leave to the philosophers. Whether it's a cover version or not, as far as I'm concerned, it's the only one that counts.
  7. As you can see, Britannia boiler, Jubilee chassis, V2 trailing bogie. Before I can round off the boiler I need to solder a wire so that the electrical pickup on the loco works. Once I've done that, I can use filler to round it off. It's fairly close coupled with the tender at least
  8. Oh well, It' still very much a work in progress, but here's a look at the pacific version of the jubilee that I'm cobbling together in N. As you can see it's a Britannia boiler on top of a Jubilee chassis with a V2 trailing bogie. Before I try and do something about the gap under the boiler I need to solder a wire so that the electrical pickup works
  9. I've got a fair few cover versions and they vary between 'better than the original' and 'I think I need to go and listen to the original now. Actually, please give me some brain bleach first.' But I tend to find them interesting regardless. Then there's the cheekier things like Billy Bragg's 'Ideology' which really is just 'Chimes of Freedom' with different words. But yes... There will only ever be one version of Comfortably Numb - the one by Pink Floyd. There will only ever be one version of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow - the one by Carole King. There will only ever be one version of With a Little Help From My Friends - the one by The Beatles. As to preferring the first version you hear, well, I heard Metallica's version of Stone Cold Crazy first, and I prefer the original... As an aside. Of songs that have the same title, but aren't the same song... Evil Woman - Black Sabbath, ELO, or Spooky Tooth? Heaven Can Wait - Meat Loaf or Iron Maiden?
  10. Can't remember where I found it, and if its a copyright violation, then please feel free to delete it.
  11. Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock & Roll) - Elton John
  12. Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verve
  13. That's really helpful and useful. I've been thinking about doing one in N gauge for some time now. Well, doing two of them in N just to annoy the purists Your pictures are more helpful than the diagrams I've got.
  14. Bitter Suite: Brief Encounter / Lost Weekend / Blue Angel - Marillion
