  1. Fantastic, thank you! Did you say that the original buffer body would have be to removed? How would I do this?
  2. Yes please. Pictures would be great as I'm quite new to this. I usually just take the trains out of the box and put it straight in the display case. It's rare do I ever get hands on. Thanks again Your location doesn't happen to have any connection with the Omega Dark Side of the Moon watch does it? I'm on some watch forums as well which is why I ask
  3. The left buffer is the original one from the power car. Not a great picture, I’ll try taking another one when I get the chance.
  4. So I’ve bought them but they don’t seem to fit unless I’m doing something wrong. The HST buffers don’t seem to be available anywhere.
  5. Great, thanks. On the Petersspares link, I entered my email address where it says, “For all stock enquiries relating to this product please enter your email address below.” So I’m waiting for them to get back to me. If no luck, I’ll get the ones on eBay instead. Thanks again
  6. Thanks Trailrage. Unfortunately, it seems to be temporarily out of stock. I’ll keep a lookout.
  7. Hi, So I recently bought a set of Grand Central HST powers but some of the buffers are missing. I know they sell buffers on the Hornby website but do you know which one is compatible for the HST? It kind of looks like 2-BIL Buffer Pack (R3162) but I’m not sure. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  8. First time I’ve been on the forum for ages so only just seem this, thanks for the tip. Since I started this thread almost 14 months ago, I have bought 4 other HST sets but all brand new from modern era (GWR, LNER, XC and NR). I also hope to get the FGW and Pullman HSTs when they are released later this year.
  9. Thanks for your reply Nigel. Which control systems would you recommend? So I don’t need a specific rail to connect the output pins. I can just solder it on is what I’m understanding from your post.
  10. Thanks for your reply. What is the track called though that accepts the clip from the command centre? I’m not sure what to type in to google or eBay to find that specific track piece. Rookie question I’m sure but thanks for your help.
  11. Hello, I’m new so not very clued up on how DCC works, etc... so please be patient. I’m planning on buy a BNSF SD70ACe locomotive by Walthers in HO gauge. I’m also planning to buy a ‘Trainline Railtech Digital Trainset’ by Walthers to run the DCC. Ridiculous question but what is the piece of rail called that is connected to the output cord of the digital controller? As you can imagine, when I try to search for it on eBay,etc... it’s very overwhelming when there are hundreds of results. I was using this tutorial and it’s at 1:35 which has the piece of track called rerailer but when I type into eBay, I get loads of results and not sure which it is. Thanks in advance
  12. Hi Thejohnster. Thanks for the advice. I don’t feel comfortable opening it up myself as I’m not an expert. I’m a driver not a fitter haha. There are plenty of colleagues I can ask though as some are really into their model trains particular some of the ex -BR guys.
  13. Thanks to you both so much and everyone else who relplied. I got it working. It was seized and freed it by gently applying pressure as JDW said. What a wonderful forum you’ve got here!
  14. Hi Stovepipe. It definitely is heavier and feels the same weight as my Virgin Trains HST 43087 powered power car. Wheels do not rotate and peeking through the side/back window, there is a similar mechanism to that of my VT power car so it looks like there is a motor.

  16. I bought it on eBay (stupid idea perhaps) and yes it was boxed in the original Hornby packaging and looks new to my untrained eye. I’m not sure if it is the super detailed version- it’s power cars 43042 and 43029 if it helps. The lights work for both but it won’t run (43042 has the motor and 43029 is the dummy)
  17. Yes, power car 43042 is powered and 43029 is unpowered (it also came with 2 coaches).
  18. Hello, I’m new to this forum and sorry if this is in the wrong place. I bought a Hornby HST in First Great Western livery recently which was described as new and appears to be so. As soon as it was delivered, I tested it- the lights work but it doesn’t move. If someone could please advise me what the problem is, I would be greatful. Thanks in advance
