  1. I think you have nailed it with the sea. Looks great. Cheers David
  2. Another couple of new arrivals. The Scorpion is a 3d print. I can do it as an RAF Regiment example
  3. Planning for this project continues whilst I am busy with other things. An addition to the roster is this Fowler. I will number it as Army No 111.
  4. Here is the state of play with the tenement. The roof and chimneys are done and the main walls have their base coat.
  5. Whilst in van mode here is another one I did. I have not had to paint any of these. The McEwans van was a post office van, the Tunnock's one was a British Rail van and the Irn Bru one was a Fordson Tractors van which was already blue and orange.
  6. Hi Andy. Best of luck with the building work and the new layout in Baby Pod. Will look out for your next thread Cheers David
  7. It's been allocated to the Sellafield nuclear waste train one too many times!
  8. I am making reasonable progress cladding the first PopupDesign kit in plastic. Just a few more details to do.
  9. I'll take up that challenge! I am sure I have a couple of vans that could be repainted
  10. I put this temporarily on the gable end. There has to be an Irn Bru advert somewhere on the layout. Now where is my square sausage!
  11. That is taking accuracy to prototype to a whole new level!
  12. I have started to cover one of the Popupdesign tenements with plastikard. I have three of these window pattern to do so I made a template to aid marking out.
  13. That is a brilliant photo. Thanks for posting. Cheers David
  14. I have been peering at this photo for a while. To the right of the stairs is a colour light signal and what looks like a water crane, or is it just a shadow!
  15. Sad to hear that. I think this layout is excellent with so much further potential. I also think that eventually you would have made the fiddleyard scenic. Here is to the Baby pod and whatever you build in it. Cheers David
  16. There was a stair from track level
  17. I have one of those. I have made a representation of the cable running from the cab to the front coupling
  18. There were two open air sections at each end of the low level station but these were outside the footprint of the high level station. The only source of smoke within the high level station would have been the stairwells to the low level station which were located towards the George Sq end of the station.
  19. I don't know how much choice railway staff had in terms of location. My grandfather was a stationmaster on the LNER. In 1937 he was posted from Cockburnspath on the ECML to Auchtermuchty in Fife. No running water and no electricity. He stayed 3 weeks then told them to stuff it and went back to Cockburnspath.
  20. I think you are right, especially when you consider nearly every train leaving GQS would be be going full bore to get up the incline and most trains would be banked too. Must have been pretty noisy as well!
