  1. I had the same issue with mine, I dismantled it and re attached the shaft at the non guards end. Now it runs well in both directions, however, when running in the direction of the non guards end it does indeed sound like a bag of nails, but is sweet as a nut when running in the other direction. Should have sent it back really but life got in the way and it was about 6 months before I ran it for the first time.
  2. Hi, I am running an oo gauge layout with 2 main running lines via DC or analog as some people call it. Ive have wired up my points with Guagemaster pm20 point motors, controlling them with the Gaugemaster CDU point controller, the one that does up to 18 points. The track is controlled with a Gaugemaster model Q i think, the 4 track one, I have 2 passing loops, one on each of two main running lines and on these loops I have wired the 2 points at each end to change accordingly at the same time. My issue is that the points on track one work perfectly but the points on track 2 do not. What happens is when I disconnect one point and switch the other so that they are correctly aligned, when reconnected they always end up switching to opposite ways to each other. I'm absolutely baffled by this as nothing I've done such as swap wires around hoping to change polarity, or disconnect one then flick the switch and then reconnect, doesn't do anything to rectify the situation. Both points are connected to the same common return which is what I've done with my other tracks points which work fine. I've been fiddling about with it for ages but to no avail. Is anyone able to shed any light and point me in the right direction? Many thanks. David.
  3. Thanks for that I'll give that a try. Dave.
  4. Hi, I dismantled my Hornby class 31, 31174 to fix a crank shaft or prop shaft that had come loose (I think they're called that) and now it's back together I cannot work out what wires go where on the pcb. The thing is I've taken it apart several times for the same reason and put it back together loads of times but cannot remember where I got the reference from to do so. I've looked at Hornbys website and found the exploded diagram which shows the wires and pcb but does not (that i can see) tell you what the wires are. Can anyone point me in the rite direction? It is the 12 pin type of pcb if that's any help. Many thanks in anticipation. Dave.
