Coachmann, I am astounded to come upon, after all this time, your work on the Compound. I am rediscovering my interest in R Modelling after an absence of about 30 years. Your impression of 41196 is simply staggering. It is especially so, because it has to be the subject of my portraying a 'favourite' loco. Starting my interest aged eight, guided by my grandad, it was the very first number in my Ian Allan book in 1955/6. I am between Bradford and Skipton, and this loco was one of a number of regular performers on 'The Residential' between Bradford/Leeds and Morecambe. By then a 11E/24J Lancaster Green Ayre based loco having been at Agecroft, we saw it as a frequent visitor. I have to ask, where is your model now? Can I see it? I would dearly love to have the creation of this loco. At present I am re-cutting my teeth by starting on a Hornby based Compound project. It will be imperfect, and if it ever comes to fruition, it will pale by comparison with your creation. Thank you.
