  1. Calling all O gauge modellers! I've decided to bite the bullet and offer a wagon in O gauge - but there's a bit of a catch. I've never released an O gauge wagon before, so I need to know I can cover my costs before placing the order with the manufacturer. The cost of these wagons is much higher than the usual OO wagons so they will only be produced if at least 20 are sold on pre-order. If this goal is not reached by 22nd July 2022, all orders will be cancelled and refunded in full. With that in mind, please place your pre-order today (and save £5): https://www.photogra-fix.com/railways This 'Buggleskelly Ltd. Quarry Owners & Tarmacadam Manufacturer' 7 plank open wagon has the following features: • Finely moulded body and chassis with internal detail represented • Opening side doors • Blackened strapping and metalwork • Finely applied livery and printed details • Profiled wheels and axles with brass bearing pockets • Metal sprung buffers • 3 link metal coupling chain with sprung coupling hook Next Train's Gone! Thanks Tom
  2. This is my original scratchbuilt model, but I had people asking for their own and scratchbuilding wasn't practical (this took a week to make) so I went down the 3D printing route :)
  3. Hello and firstly thanks Andy (Mod) for letting me post this here. I run the Will Hay Appreciation Society and am a bit obsessed with the Will Hay film 'Oh, Mr. Porter!', the classic railway comedy from 1937. My small online model shop can be found here: https://www.photogra-fix.com/railways where I've listed my 3D resin printed buildings of Buggleskelly Station and Signal Box, in scales OO, TT3, TT, N, Z, 6mm and T. I also have some OO wagons inspired by the film, and colourised photos, t-shirts and other Will Hay memorabilia, along with some pieces from my other passion the Railway Series. I'm taking orders for the model buildings (painted or unpainted) and they can take several weeks to fulfil as I'm a one man band so please bear this in mind before ordering. If you are a Will Hay fan, please also feel free to join our society (it's free!) at www.buggleskelly.co.uk Next Train's Gone! Tom
  4. Hello everybody, long time no post but I've been busy! I've asked mods if I can put a post up in the small suppliers section as I now have a handful of Buggleskelly products on my website, but here's what I've been working on recently - Buggleskelly models in OO, but available in TT3, TT, N, Z, 6mm and T! https://www.photogra-fix.com/railways To follow in future - Will Hay, Harbottle and Albert figures, Gladstone the decrepit old engine and some accessories when I can find time to work on them :) Tom
  5. Thanks Kym, good to see you on here and loved looking through your layout pics. I'm very quiet on here so will try and get some photos up of the models (have asked mods if I can put a post up to promote them). Look forward to seeing how you paint up Buggleskelly and the signal box when it reaches you :) Tom
  6. Hi everybody, I have spent the weekend building a siding with a small bridge and buffer stop. If you're interested please have a look at my new YouTube video here, thanks Tom
  7. Bit of a dream came true today as my models appeared in Model Rail magazine I've also been adding more to my YouTube Channel which you can find here if you fancy subscribing? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpqfslEKsAWbntyQuPuS8Ow?view_as=subscriber
  8. Thanks Ray, I looked at the Roxey kit but the chassis is no longer produced for it, and she was altered so much for the film (cab cut down, new chimney) it made more sense to design the loco from scratch (following the plans from the KESR). In the end I had to buy a 3D printer which wasn't cheap, but I enjoyed learning 3D design so I will definitely make use of it in future projects.
  9. I've been quiet for a while because I've been trying out some 3D modelling and 3D printing to create Gladstone, the decrepit old engine from Oh, Mr. Porter! This 1:76 scale model was designed on Tinkercad and printed with the Anycubic Photon resin 3D printer. The chassis is not prototypical so as soon as I'm able to easily source a 2-4-0 basis I will redesign to fit, but I'm happy with the Electortren basis for now. If you'd like to see Gladstone in action I've uploaded a video to YouTube here. Thanks, Tom
  10. Yes this layout is excellent. They brought it along to our Will Hay Day in Cliddesden in 2018. Pete Waterman was there too, so it was a great chance to discuss model railways and real railways!
  11. Thanks Corbs, I built the buildings a few years ago for my first attempt at Buggleskelly but a house move meant I had to start again- thankfully I had not glued them down!
  12. Not much progress in modelling as it's been so hot (my model room is also my office and the PC is kicking out some heat today!) but I thought the evening sun gave some nice shots.
  13. I'm in two minds, I have a windmill but I'm trying to just model the station area so realistically it wouldn't be seen in this area. Adding it makes it feel like a train set - not sure if that makes sense? I also have a Thomas the Tank layout under construction so might save the windmill for that. Not sure...
  14. It's not arrived yet, that's the problem
  15. Hi everybody, Some of you may know me from Facebook as I run the Will Hay Appreciation Society and have posted in several Facebook modelling groups my progress on Buggleskelly, the fictional Northern Irish railway halt from the 1937 Will Hay film 'Oh, Mr. Porter!'. I thought it was about time I had a dedicated place for the layout online so I can share updates etc, and this seems like a friendly forum so I hope you don't mind. Firstly, a bit about Buggleskelly. In the film 'Oh, Mr. Porter!', William Porter (a wheeltapper who once coupled a coal train to the Scotch Express) is sent to a be Station Master at a backwater in Northern Ireland where he can't cause any trouble. Of course he can, and does, in one of the finest British comedy films ever made. I highly recommend watching the film on YouTube here and if you're a fan please join us in the Will Hay Appreciation Society here. the filming location for Buggleskelly was in fact Cliddesden, near Basingstoke in Hampshire, so the film looks very little like Northern Ireland. I have taken a more generic British approach to scenery to allow for both the fiction and reality, and I am aiming for a 1930s setting, with a lot of older vehicles etc as would have been more common in rural parts. My layout for Buggleskelly is 2ft x 8ft with a single loop of track with the rear of the loop hidden behind a treeline. There is a scratch built station and signal box, and currently not much else apart from trees and scenery which I've been working on for the past few weeks. As you can see there is still a lot to do! I hope you find this interesting and let me know if you would like to see more, thanks, Tom.
  16. Hi, I used a slightly watered down Polyfilla mixed with a drop of black paint for my roads. They still need to be weathered but the texture works well for an old country lane.
