So if you update your iPad to the latest iOS14 you may want to ensure it still communicates with your Z21.

After updating my Apple devices to iOS14 my iPhone (6s) still operates my z21 but my iPad (much newer!) does not. It shows connected to the Roco router but "No Connection to Z21". If I go to Z21 Settings the IP address is correct but tapping on Reconnect to Z21 does nothing, the button lights but nothing happens and it doesn't stay on. I'm not sure if I should use the Z21 updater as my phone is working fine, just ipad control (which I prefer) is lost. The z21 Start is less than a year old. My iphone did say something about "networks" when I opened the z21 app, but the ipad did not. Just to reiterate the router is the one supplied by Roco and it is only used for the train. I played with the settings in my ipad but with no real expertise and obviously no success.

I got a z21 Start for my Marklin HO 1928 Rheingold set. After several months of error free running the cars no longer make any sound when the coach lights are on. I don't know why turning the coach lights on and off interrupts the sound. It did not for the first few months so something has changed. I can actually start a conductor announcement and cycle the lights and the announcement will begin and end just muted for the second or so the lights are on. Any suggestions would be appreciated, to either fix the problem or determine if the problem lies within the train or the z21.
