A few images of my EM Gauge layout East Road. The last image is of two of the first generation Bachmann Class 40's that I have fully re-sprayed, weathered and detailed.

37 chain removal isn't required for body removal, and you should be able to open the bogies without needing to remove them either, but if you do, they are simply friction fit on pins into the chassis.
Brilliant, thank you

Has anybody managed to remove the chains on these yet? I will be needing to drop in the EM gauge wheelsets but on looking at chain connections, it doesnt look that starightforward. I know there is a "loosely" based instruction for the Deltic conversion, but it doesnt clearly show how the chains are removed without butchering them

...plus I have the sound fitted 027 on order from Rails!
I have ordered the non-sound 027 from Accurascale but have since ordered the ESU and a speaker. Also, hoping for an 043 in the next batch if any left anywhere

I think these deserve a bump (rubs thighs). As you were.

It depends on the model you’re installing in. The 37 for example doesn’t use brackets but the 55 does etc. We also sell a lot of accurathrashes for third party locos since apparently we’re rather good value for money. Simply drop our wonderful parts and warranty team a note (warranty@a..com) and we can send you any parts needed (free too)
Thanks for the speedy reply. However, I am slightly confused (doesn't take much) as to what the white retaining clips/brackets are that are holding the accurathrash speaker in place, in the factory fitted sound 37's? This is what I was referring to.

The spare parts stockpile is in transit with the next batch.
Great stuff. May I suggest sending the speaker retaining brackets out with a purchased speaker, especially for the ones who have purchased non-sound version models from the first batch like I have. I have since pre-ordered the sound modules and matching speakers (i caved in big time) for both of my initial purchases

With round two now hitting peoples door steps, do we have any news on the likely time scale(s) for rounds 3 and 4?
TIA.
Sloth.I dont think the round two are in the country yet? If by that you mean the Scottish headlight variants?

Many thanks. Just think of the therapeutic effects to be gained from an Accurascale Class 40. I have 193 left to model!
Have you seen the latest from Bachmann via Key Model World? 40145 in LL with ELR nameplates

I reckon the whole “3 shipments” thing is a ploy. Come on, own up, how many of you did what I did, i.e. bought one of the first shipment when you weren’t planning to, purely because you couldn’t wait till the second shipment to get one in your hands?!
Guilty as charged

Hi Dave. No, its just pushed downwards from being in the foam cradle when fitting the details. Needs a bit of glue on the underside. Regarding the re-gauging - I have just seen the step by step for the Deltic in the support section of the website. I assume the 37 will be exactly the same as they are practically the same bogie type

So far it’s the only 37 (37 027) announced that fits my era and area, so would like to see more before committing to an order.
Had a look at 37 423 in the display case of the local shop. It’s very subtle in the improvements and detail. Plus no one’s ever done such specific tooling to a loco in a specific time frame. This loco I guess is must have for anyone modelling todays scene.
Same here. I model 1970's/1980's BR Blue era and am waiting on 027 landing. However, I impulsed purchased one of the limited stock 423's yesterday. May just build a modern image diorama with Railway Laser Lines Gresty Bridge fuel point kit...

I'm intrigued how the smaller speaker alone compares to the Bachmann 37. Hopefully someone may do a comparison. Alternatively, it would be interesting to see the Bachmann sound file in the Accurascale loco and see how they compare with the better setup but I think the Bachmann uses Plux22 so it's a no go and obviously the same the other way around.
I'm somewhat surprised that Bachmann moved to a Plux 22 interface. There doesn't appear to be many (or any really) advantages from DCCwiki. Might have been simply the availability of chips?
I have a 21 pin ESU Loksound with the South West Digital Class 37 sound file (modified) that I am going to pop into 423 (none sound purchase) when it arrives this week. Got the speaker arriving today. The sound file has the cold startup and wheel slip so should sound the dogs and will do until the the re-programmed Accurathrash is shipped next month

Over the last few weeks, I have been focusing on my other layout East Road TMD.
This layout has been through many changes. This may well not be the last change but it is one that I am completely happy with.
It is a 5ft by 18in end to end diorama. DCC operated with 3v powered lighting. The few images below give in insight in to the layout.

East Road Goods has gone through a transformation over the last few weeks. Gone from being an end to end diorama, it now includes an 8ft x 4ft single track running loop. The goods yard is still the main feature with a scenic section to left of it where the tracks disappear into an hillside double tunnel portal. The track rejoins the yard to the right of the goods yard that also includes a now lifted section of track with sleepers and chairs left behind in a bit of undergrowth, adjacant to the goods shed/coal drop. Still plenty to do. The next job is to complete the scenic section to the right of the yard, just need to work out something, maybe a road bridge?
25109 idles in the yard while on van duties
Dressed stone wall added with access gates
A low profile timber workshop added
A train crew mess room constructed and weathered to add a little extra variation to the yard
A busy scene in the yard with a couple of Type 2's
Tunnel portal scratch built into the hillside formation
