  6. Hi folks I have Bachmann class 57 fitted with a Esu lok sound v5 decoder, is a very faint brake squeal when stopping the cv63 is set at 180 I have read the manual and got rather confused wondering someone could point to right cv to bring the level up. Thanks for any advice. Steve

  8. Hi folks In a effort to get a troublesome Bachmann / lok sound 5 37 from stuttering I enabled the complex Speed curve now I find that the decoder won't reset and switch it off I used the 2mm society cv 29 Calculator. Any suggestions would be most welcome Steve

  13. Hi Well I cleaned the wheels pick ups and track to death put back on the track it inched forward And stopped so I know the motor is ok I am at a loss now. Steve
  14. Hi Thanks for replying I have checked the pins and they are ok I unscrew ed the bottom chassis and was able get A finger in and turned the fly wheels and they are free I don't know to get at the motor to test With dc Steve

Hi I have a Bachmann class 37 dc c sound lok sound v5 I have had nothing but running problem s with it stuttering etc I did a cv8 reset no joy I switched the chip with a blank and ran it on dc it was ok put the v5 chip back and now it Won't run on dc c or dc there is no humming from the motor have I blown the motor...? I have all the sound and lights so I don't Think it's the decoder. I am using a Gauge Master Prodigy Express 2. Thanks for advice. Steve.

I cleaned the pick ups again and tried another cv8 reset and bingo It now runs very well don't understand how the reset didn't work before Unless it didn't have good contact with my program track but hey ho I am a happy camper...! Steve Whilst I think on it what are the most important cv Too record...? Thanks to all who posted.

  21. Hi guys Thanks for your time I have run the locomotive on dc and it runs Just fine no stuttering at all my other dc c locomotive also run just Fine too I will try I try and reprogram some cv's from the esu decoder tips and Tricks paper work I have found on the net Steve
  22. Hi many thanks for replying unfortunately I don't have a tester I tried it again and it judder a few inches I then looked at the cv's and found Most were populated with zero's so I'm thinking the decoder has failed. Steve

H folks I have a Bachmann 37 with a Esau lok sound v5 which running degraded to stuttering I cleaned the track and wheels to no avail so I tried the auto tune the loco for a a few inches and stopped I tried again and got nothing loco is now dead I so I took the decoder out and placed the blank and ran it under dc and all was well so not quite sure what to do now. I use a Gauge Master Prodigy Express. any help would be appreciated. Steve
  24. Hi folks. Both locomotives have Esu lok sound 5 with a Gauge Master Prodigy Express. I have 2 class 37 the first one stuttered at speed steps 1-3 this was cured by doing the motor control Setting cv54=0 My second 37 also stutters at speed sets 1-3 I have the set the cv54 =0 setting but it made it worse. The second 37 cv's I changed after reading ESU tips and tricks Cv52=127 Cv53=160 Cv54=127 Cv55=127 Now it goes like a bat out of hell. Thanks for any advice. Steve.
