  1. would you happen to have any pics of this on the mainline? iv never seen a rake like that befor. it could solve the problem of only having 1 FGA.
  2. I have a 3d printed oo gauge Flying Scotsman water tender that's currently grey plastic. Can anyone put my in touch with someone who can paint it so I can put it behind my Scotsman? Will pay a fee for this service. The colour I would need it to be is the same green as Hornby R3336 as this is the model I will be buying.
  3. I have come in to possession of a single end FGA wagon hastily bought thinking it was the middle wagon. Rather than sell it I want to make another twin pack so if anyone has a single outer FGA wagon for sale I would like to buy it. Currently I have the wagon 601245 with Evergreen and Stolt container. Id prefer to buy any other different wagon with a different running number but I would buy the same if it was available as I could renumber it myself. Containers are not important, if there available ill buy but will buy without. also don't care if its boxed or unboxed.
  4. thats a great picture. so if i remove the logo and paint it the same green as the wagon it's still like the real wagon that existed. i can remove the brand without affecting its real-ness
  5. i get what you mean by wrong wagons but my style of modelling makes sence when you know what im doing. i have rakes of random wagons by brand. so a rake of colas, a rake of ews and so forth. my layout is a demonstration of what existed on british rails so the ews intermodal on my container wagon rake conflicts with my sole ews rake. in an ideal world id have 1 of every tipe of wagon cose i love all things railway haha.
  6. Hello. I currently have some of Bachmann OO gauge FIA/IFA intermodal wagons with EWS and Railfreight Distribution logo on the side. I need to remove these logos as they conflict with some other stuff running on my layout. My question is: what other company logos did these wagons have on them in real life other that EWS and Railfreight Distribution? Any pictures would be a big help. Would anyone happen to know if there are any transfers I can buy to change the Bachmann ones myself?
  7. thanks, iv taken a look and unfortunately its the wrong version. im looking for full yellow ends.
  8. painting/respray is something id be happy to do providing the model tooling is accurate as tooling cant easily be change. and I need photos of the real thing to paint from so i get the livery accurate.
  9. lol na i couldn't do that. my ocd wouldn't allow it. so far everything on my layout is real. the odd rake may not be prototypical, like the wrong era coach with another, but everything has to be real no exception.
  10. ahh thats a shame, i thought all of hattons coaches were real. it would seem only some are rather then the whole lot. i dont have many blue coaches on my layout so i was hoping to build a rake using the hattons ones. iv already ordered some of accurascale suburban coaches but i wanted veriaty of diffrent types of blue coaches. oh well, guess ill have to fine other blue coaches.
  11. I don't suppose anyone has any historic pictures of the Genesis 4 & 6 Wheel Coaches in the NCB blue livery? I'm curious to how may existed, how accurate Hatton's renditions are, what loco pulled them and formations they operated in. my o.c.d likes to check the realism of stuff before committing to a rake on my layout. so far i have only found this photo of 1 blue coach
  12. looking to buy a Heljan class 28 in br green with full yellow ends. would prefer clean undamaged , not weathered, dcc ready model.
  13. i want to buy Bachmann 34-625y Longmoor Military Railway coach. message me with details if you have 1 for sale or know were i can buy one. thanks.
  14. as I said, I am a novice. I cant be the first people to ever want to respray a brake van, maybe someone might already have decals or know what is needed. all I was asking for was if anyone could help. if no one can because of the huge amount of work needed (as you've just educated me, it does seem very labour intensive) then it will forever be a unsprayed brake van. all I was doling was just asking to see if anyone could help, I'm not desperate for these wagons.
  15. that was kind of the point of this post. i am a complete novice in resprays. i normally only ever buy whats on the shelf. i need someone to design from the beginning, someone with diagram or a knowledge of the wagon hence why i said id pay £££
  16. yes i have messaged railtec a while ago but as of yet not had a reply. the one youv links to is useful but i need every transfer a queen mary van needs as im going for a full respray so everything currently on it is going to be sprayed over to the 2 tone grey the van needs. i am unsure what decals i need and hoping someone might do and can design me a transfer sheet.
  17. hello people. is there anyone who can make me or knows how i can get transfer for the 2 wagons in the links bellow. i want to respray some Bachmann models in to the bellow wagons but ill need transfers. ideally i need running numbers, codes, logos and warning/info signs and text. willing to pay some ££ for your time and materials. message me if you can help, thanks. railfreight general division wagon, spa wagon: https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/spaconvertdept/h212ADE90#h212ade90 railfreight construction division wagon, brake van: https://rcts.zenfolio.com/rolling-stock/sr/ha87f5bb6
  18. Hello. I am looking for any photos and real evidence that the tanker wagon in the livery of the model codes bellow did exist in real life. Hornby R6514 https://www.hattons.co.uk/35965/hornby_r6514_14_ton_tank_wagon_esso_yellow_1164/stockdetail Hornby R6207A https://www.hattons.co.uk/65897/hornby_r6207a_esso_14_ton_tank_wagon_1635/stockdetail Bachmann 33-500Z https://www.hattons.co.uk/63758/bachmann_branchline_33_500z_14_ton_tank_wagon_with_large_filler_cap_1634_in_esso_buff_livery_limited_editio/stockdetail
  19. Has anyone ever bought or seen the Locomotion Models exclusive model of the Mallard? Its made by Hornby; code R3687. Can anyone send me some pictures of it and its box, I'm undecided if its worth buying. I don't have a Mallard and I want one, this seems like the most detailed variant on the market at the moment. Link to the model I'm talking about is bellow. https://www.locomotionmodels.com/exclusive-models/steam-locomotives/lner-a4-no4468-mallard-80th-anniversary-special
  20. Hello Does anyone know of any wagons with the railfreight sector logo construction and general on them? I know they were on plenty of locos but im looking for wagons. Iv found wagons with the other sectors, these are the last 2 I need.
  21. Hello everyone. Thanks for all the posts, this has been very useful. I am looking for liquid fuel, any fuel you can fill your car with so Esso, BP and Shell primarily. They can be from and time period in the last 100 years. I'm after pictures of the real loco, dosent have to have a model form as i know not many have been produced. Using the pictures of the real locos I'm gona try to repaint or recreate/build models of them to pull fuel tanker wagons. I have a bit of an unorthodox model railway, no set time period, in were I have a branded loco pulling the same brand of wagon and not more than 1 of the same type. My layout is more of a demonstration of what type of rolling stock ran on uk rails. I'm really proud of the verity of my EWS loco rake and my GBRF train is taking shape nicely. (if only Accurascale could find a way to ship to the UK quicker). It doesn't have to be a uk company as DB Schenker and as you said, Shell, isn't UK based but they operate on UK rails so they make the cut on to my layout. What i don't want is a loco that only worked overseas like a Russian or French thing. They dont have to be UK built, as long as they worked on UK rails, even if built abroad and imported, they make the cut on my layout. The Railfreight Partoleum livery has branded wagons I can get for it so even though main line operators hauled the fuel wagons, I can't have them pulling wagons that aren't the same brand as them. Call it a OCD niggle haha. I have a DRS loco already and pre-ordered the Accurascale nuclear wagons. Can't wait for them, they look stunning. I am collecting Esso, BP and Shell tanker wagons and need some locos to pull them and I know theres very few models out there in branded fuel livery so with these pictures as proof of existence I will aim to repaint or 3d print some bodys. There's a few already out there that people have digitally created that fit on a Hornby 0-4-0 chassis. Also, I am looking for build rakes of considerable size, over 1 meter, so the small shunter will be double head so they don't burn out. That Hornby Sentinel isn't very powerful. Finding more than 1 of the same branded loco in these comments has been excellent so I can double head the rakes. Heljan has just announced a new run of class 14 and theres a BP livery. Esso and Shell are a little more tricky as there isn't another model out there so thats were 3d print and repaits will cone in to play. If anyone knows of any more locos out there please post away, thanks!!!
  22. i am in search of any uk locos (steam, diesel or electric) that was/is in a livery of a uk fuel brand. i know of so far: 0-6-0 Janus with BP branding 0-4-0 Sentinel with ESSO branding i am unsure if anything ells exists, there are plenty of fuel brands out there but weather they even had a loco with there branding on it is unknown. google dosent turn up anything when i try searching for fuel locomotives. if anyone knows of something and might have any pictures please can you share. thanks
  23. WOOO!!! This is a lot of amazing information, a lot of different wagon types, hopefully there's models of them. Thats what iv been strugeling with, finding models and pictures of the real thing. on that note, I'm buying the brake van . I see your point, British railways didn't really have a military liveries as there had no need for a military railway, mainly training railways.
  24. HELLO! I am looking to build some rakes of military railway stock, this includes wagons and coaches. I am very particular about my collection; each model has to be accompanied by a photo of the real life railway stock the model is representing. I am doing quite well, bellow is a list of what I currently have in model form and a picture of it in real life to prove there real. The purpose of this forum post: I have exhausted my supply of buyable models with real pictures... The models listed bellow I have bought and I also have real pictures for so I know there real. What I am hopping for in this forum post is for information and real pictures of railway stock and there model counterpart that I don't own yet. I know there are plenty of Bachmann models in WD, MOD or military livery but I cant find any real photos to go with them to prove there real so I haven't bought them. If anyone knows of any real proof to accompany any model I don't own please can you share. It doesn't matter what year/era, I want a range throughout history old and new. I own so far: Dapol 4f-013-031 - gun powder box van oxford rail 0r76boom03 - rail gun Boche Buster oxford rail or76ww006c - flat bed with sherman tank Bachmann 38-726 - flat bed with comet tank bachamnn train pack 30-325 - ww1 ambulance train cavalex kfa(1) 95234 - flat bed Bachmann 38-740 - flat bed with covered tank Bachmann 34-625y - Longmoor Military Railway coach
  25. Hello, can anyone help me find the product codes for the best detailed steam engines. I am looking to upgrade/update some steam engines in my collection. The ones I have now are lacking in detail, primarily inside the cab detail like painted piles and separately fitted bits. The problem I have is that there are a fair few versions of the models I need but I don't know which version is the latest/most detailed. Can anyone help me, which Hornby models are the newer detailed versions of these locos that I am looking for. I do not want railroad versions, I want super detailed versions DDC ready. Flying Scotsman I am after the version that is identical to the Flying Scotsman I saw as a kid when it came to the south west during a rail tour. Appel green livery 4472. Preferably without smoke deflectors but if it has them ill probably just take them off. I also want the model to have the correct tender, I see some Flying Scotsman have a tender with LNER and 4472 on it with some sort of rail along the top. This is the wrong tender for the version I saw as a kid, I do not want that one. The tender I want is the same as the model I have now Hornby R2261. Basically I want an updated model version of the current one I have now R2261. I want it to have better cab detail and be DCC ready. Mallard I currently have Hornby Mallard train set R1171. This model is basic and barely has any cab detail. I have researched this one and see that Hornby R3676 looks nicely detailed, is this the best version of Mallard?
