Why are the 70s not favoured ? i shouldn't think they have had a chance to make a decent assessment yet.Its a shame the economics of the 'double -sheding' don't seem to work for a few more wagons because I bet that is the way they would really like to go.

60maniac,
I don't think they would have the cash to speculatively repair engines pending new traffic - I think if you were in charge DBS would go bust rather fast.
-
Sad to see,
Surely though if DBS lay up the last remaining 60s most will be beyond help by the time 'traffic picks up ', as mechanical things don't like being inactive for long periods.

Ah yes,
I can see the pictures already, a somali pirate with his AK47 and bandana surrounded by his OO gauge layout of crewe - just so he could havesomething to run all the nicked Bachmann on !

Brilliant high peak !!
I am definately liking 'frightliner' as the best nickname so far. Or we could pinch BUFF from the US air force ?
At the end of the day it is encouraging to see this investment I bet these things don't come cheap, I am sure nidge will fill us in eventually on what they are like to drive.
Lets hope the cabin environment is better for the drivers than the sheds.

Hi
don't know about that really.if no one was interested in making a decent
67 in the most popular scale with it having at least four
different liveries and wide geographical spread, will any of the big four
fancy the 70 with one livery and as yet to be seen distribution,
unless this monster willbe seen as a hook to get the younger generation
into models. I agree with chris though that the livery appears to be trying
tobreak up the angular lines and not suceeding, that new typeface looks
a bit 'soft' applied to this thing.bit like painting a pink flower on the side
of a rhino.

Looks like it has a recaro rally car seat , so guess it'll be more comfy
for the drivers.
I wonder if a model will appear? Probably not as a decent 67 was never
made and they are similar in numbers

Fantastic Gary,
you sure do have an artistic eye. Very emotive, reminds me a bit of Ian futer's 'Lochside' of 1980 (?) which was the first 'modern image' scottish layout I saw in RM.
