  1. Hi, These are of course Healings flour mill and they operated their own PO wagons (details in the Gloucester Garriage & Wagon PO wagons book published simply ages ago). I believe the track to the wharf was horse worked. Last time I went in the 1980s there was still track in situ in the concrete on the wharf. For those interested there is still a lot in place at the site of the shed and quay/mill. Leicester MRC built a P4 model of the shed & Mill area about 1981 (actually Tony Freestone and & I built it with Dave Smith doing the buildings). Cheers Tony
  2. Now here's a pair in the "real" period, however one is a bit wrong for 1975-6, it looks like the depot had a problem getting a spare so did a "temporary" fix which lasted a lot longer than it should have. I think it consisted of a perspex cover on top of the old panel -what do you think? Cheers Tony
  3. Oh dear, the file names do not appear anywhere! The first pair (alcohol & Fags)were Sommers Town 1968 Next batch Sommers Town 1969 (inc Inter City) Talbot Was Coventry 1979 Tony
  4. Hi, Whilst scanning some photos from the 1960s and 70s I spotted some nice archive posters that are very much "of the period" so I thought these need highlighting and sharing as they often get lost in the background of many station shots. So I thought I would start this Gallery, which I intend to update occasionally as I find suitable material. Others can, of course, feel free to do the same. Some of these are not now PC so you will not find them on commercially available sheets, however they were very much a part of steet and station life. It also suprised me how early some advertising was (see the Inter City with the John Major look-alike), and how dated some appears (such as the Talbot). All details are in the captions. Enjoy looking back at your youth! Cheers Tony
