  1. Moose is a Structural Engineer, currently working on a 1:160 scale layout in a 10 ft x 10 ft spare bedroom.

The era is set in the late 1930's - early 1940's, when steam locomotives ruled the rails and early disease'els were prone to cough enough smoke to make even a steam locomotive engineer choke (think North American ALCO's).

Moose also has oddly collected a fair amount of mostly Era 3 British outline n scale locomotives over the years and has been amazed at the fine modeling found in British model railroad magazines, so Moose has joined this RM forum in hopes of learning more about the British MRR modeling...

  2. image.png.a849874803943c662fffa9f836bba514.pngI love it when my own stuff turns up on Google Images. Makes me feel like I've made an impact in the two short years I've been doing this.

  3. The BBC news website has an article on the Dyatlov Pass incident. Slow news day? God their reporters must be so bored if this is considered news. It happened 60 years ago!

There are much more intriguing mysteries, I feel. E.g. Hinterkeifeck. :)

It's a bit of a niche incident to make a BBC news article though, surely? It's already been theorised to death as to what happened. I thought it was a pretty well known mystery, like the Mary Celleste?

  6. A short rant: I really get tired of almost every day hearing my stepmother complain about (pardon my language but) my "Train Crap" I am really tired of this and she supports the fact that my sister like 50+ dollar model horses just fine! RAHHH! Ok I am done now.

  7. Sylmasta took my money almost a week ago, and still no order confirmation or notice of dispatch. Uncool Sylmasta, uncool.

  14. Why does nobody seem to comment on my layout topic? I don't get it.

I was wondering if mine was because it's an American layout in the main Layout Topics area, and a lot of people have that old exhibition attitude of "Oh, just another US layout." Who knows?

  17. Maximum layout size I can have due to storage and places to put it is 3ft 6" x 1ft 1" Is it worth it to have a go?

      DanielB

If people can build layouts in box files then I'm sure you can do it in the space you have! Good luck! :D

Well it didn't go QUITE as I'd hoped - got distracted by O gauge and the lure of Industrial railways. Still, there's still PLENTY of time to go :)
