I have "skrawked" louvrey type things in plasticard with sawblades before.
Typically the back end of razor saws (often the only bit that's still sharp) using a square and taking my time.

Hi Jon
A thought that occurs to me if you are contemplating scratch building a Yorkshire is to get hold of a RIKO card kit and use the parts as templates for metal or plastic construction. I haven't measured the RIKO kit but it looks right against my other models.

There is one here....

Thanks for that Richard, Poppy's descriptions of size are a little odd.
My cat is called Spook and seems to run the local Mafia.... he used to beat up anything in this side of the village including foxes at night. He is getting rather ancient now and tends to take it easy

I would start with 1K resistance EACH LED , possibly increasing that if they are too bright.
Basically you subtract Vf from the supply voltage then divide by the current to give the resistance .....simples!

It's things like this that make me glad that I chose Chemistry over Physics, but then again chemists have their own problems with a different sort of mechanics. The wheel isn't off the track unless you look at it, or it is both on and off the tracks at the same time...
QuoteOh dear - it's gone all quantum! (which I thought was physics)

I think that is a cutting shed. Those bays would be stone in or out. There are some piccies here...
Power for machinery was generally in a power house or belt line engine house.. If I'm correct, there should be means to run slate (on railborne trucks/trollies) up to or away from those 'chutes' .....it's been a loooong time sdince I studied this industry!
