Hi Dan. An interesting project that gives you room for some flexibility. Your loco choices sound good but I have to wonder about the LMS 2P. They led comparatively long lives and given the often dodgy track on light railways might not be very happy there, plus your Terrier should do for such passenger services as you might choose to offer. You have not mentioned a time period, that might also be key for dictating what stock would be available as surplus to requirements for the bigger companies.
Cheers,

Very interesting. It looks to be adaptable for Dinghams as well as AJs and would probably work well with wire in tube should one be allergic to servos. Thanks for this!

The F104 had another name with pilots, the Widowmaker. They were designed for high altitude IIRC but the Brass decided to use them for low altitude support and a lot of them crashed, more here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_F-104_Starfighter

The sound you may just have heard was the bar for modelling being moved up another notch (or two). Brilliant work.

I believe the best response at this point is, “it’s your train set”. So go for it, if it makes you happy, then do it.
