Do exhibition managers still go to shows looking for layouts??? Before Covid we would be asked for info on the layout (s) we were exhibiting and 95% of these resulted a booking for another show. Since Covid we have attended quite number of shows based on bookings for shows that were cancelled during the pandemic..Not sure why this is happening now or is it the new "norm"???

Will be there with our recycled layout West Ridge MT. The "baseboard" etc was constructed out of cardboard supermarket boxes so no carpentry skill required. No expensive timber to buy and 95% of the rolling stock built from old Bachmann US freight stock for £3 each.

Will be there with 34th and Vine.

Nothing blue on Huxley Junction but the carriages are a nice shade of green.

Had a great w/end despite the weather. As we carry our layout in our motorcaravan we could not get on the caravan site as it was very much a victim of Fridays weather. Hazel Grove club soon sorted us out and all the the members were all so helpful making sure that help was there unloading and reloading layouts after the show. Well done. Lucky for us the swimming pool on the new A555 had been drained so we were home in good time. Thanks again for a great weekend. George and Joan (Huxley Junction)

Getting Huxley Junction ready for our show. I found a couple of my "little people" had collapsed. After some CPR and a drop of superglue they made a speedy recovery. George

Visited the show yesterday and really enjoyed our day out. Plenty of diversity regarding the location of the layouts and though i am not a modern image modeller i really liked the N gauge layout "Tanners Hill." Refreshments were excellent and served up by the friendly ladies of the catering team. It was also good to meet up with and chat to a large number of of like minded friends who i had not seen for a while. So if you can make it today just go as the show was great. George

Not Maunsell but the Southern ran push pull units that were converted fro Steam railmotors that ran on the Sheppey Light Railway. They were the only articulated units that ran on the Southern. I have got an O gauge set that always brought questions from show visitors who saw it running on my layout "Upsan Downs". Sadly that layout is no more but i am building a smaller one (as yet no name). the debut showing will be next July at the Colwyn Model Railway show. I do not know where you are situated but if you are reasonably close perhaps you could visit the show. I managed to obtain a small book called "The Sheppey Light Railway" by Peter A. Harding which shows the sets with various SR locos in charge. George

I also spent many hours at Lou Nadin's layout. As a regular visitor and a member of Colwyn MRC i had free access whenever i went there. People often ask me why i model the Southern Region when i live in North Wales. The answer is that it was Lou who sent me down that track. He had a Wills King Arthur on (i think) a triang chassis pulling a long set of GREEN coaches round the layout. When i arrived at the garage he always ran the Arthur as soon as i got there. I bought quite a bit of Southern Region stock off him at a great price when he sold up. That is the reason i model the SR and not because i used to live down south. I did not get Lou's Arthur but i did build my own. I still have it though it is now a non runner. Thanks for the pictures. Great memories. George

Back home by 18.45 after a good weekend. Well done to all NM& District members for all aspects of the move to the leisure centre. Nice to see and chat to many old faces not seen for some time as we had taken a break from attending shows.

Weather permitting we will there with our Hon30 layout Roarkes Landing (Revisited). Always had a good welcome at Chapel so looking forward to the weekend.

We will be there with Gorne and Dunette. Colorado narrow guage in 0n30. Layout and stock have just been given a good check over ready for loading.
