  1. Right, Colin. Your starter for ten, as they say. Including two differing cab roofs. Seem to remember I have a few more somewhere (where I walked along the roofs while shooting). Dave
  2. Blimey!! Didn't dream those pages were still there. Terrible photos. Dave Terrible models compared with yours! Dave
  3. Looking forward to this, Colin. Can I temp you to do a De-Icer next. Well, after the Sub anyway. Dave
  4. Found the following Colin. Quote; From; The 4 Sub Story. Southern Electric Group In general, interior design has been covered in earlier sections describing the `4 Sub's' as built. Here various details and modifications, many of a minor nature. are considered at greater length. The most important experimental vehicle from the earlier batches of ` 4 Sub' units was trailer 10463 of 4377. Several of its features were incorporated into the open coaches of the production batches, in particular non-subdivision of the interior and armrests at the inner ends of the seating units. Few of the experi ments tried out on various other coaches proved a success, and were usually removed at the first opportunity. Perhaps this shows the soundness of the basic design. From; Southern Region Multiple-unit Trains. Southern Electric Group The next batch of units entered service in 1947/48 in reverse numerical order, starting at 4377 and working back to 4355. Accommodation reverted to all compartment, except for one trailer in 4377 which was a saloon without any intermediate partitions. This vehicle, 10463, which is still in service, had advertising panels between the tops of the seat backs and the luggage racks, a feature that was not repeated. 4377 had a total seating capacity of 402. 43644376 had the same formation and seating capacity as 4111-20, but 4355-63 had no "composite" trailer and thus had an increased seating capacity of 432. Withdrawn April 1976. Hope this helps but you probably already knew, that's why you chose 4377. Dave
  5. Colin. Sorry, meant to say what a fabulous job you've done on the Bil. Dave
  6. Colin. Got loads of 4Sub photos and measurements but never photographed 4377. When I first set out the unit numbers in my little log book, I gave 4377 its own sub-catagory so there must be something different about this unit. Could just be the seating/compartment layout or something more detailed but I don't now know why. Dave
  7. Hello Bill. May I suggest that you listen to the Sounds by 'Legomanbiffo' on youtube. If you like then order through DC Kits and use the speaker that comes with the chip. You can remove the fan if you want or alternatively, sink the speaker lower in its 'box' and then cut the sindes down. Best of luck Dave
  8. A small diversion. Was this meant for the Eastern Region or an indication that the SR was thinking of putting overhead up. Dave
  9. Colin. Mmmm. Personal use only, as I said. Anyway. Here are a couple of things that may be of help. The second I will re-post when you start the model. Dave
  10. Colin. Here's what I have of use. I basically missed photographing the BILs so here is the NRM one. My photography was not so good back then so I have fiddled about in Paintshop Pro to bring out some of the details. Note the differing rainstrips. Dave
  11. Hi Colin Have I sent you my 2 Bil roof pictures. Can't remember now. Dave
  12. Star Lane!! Love it. Been down on the line there once and can remember the covered way. Can't wait to see all those EMU's running. Use to hear DEMUs on the Brighton line at Gatwick on a summer's Friday or Saturday night around midnight. Understood they were refuelling at Selhurst having come from Hastings. Dave

  14. Why not develop the free Semi detached house garage into a row of full, half & low relief. Some more quick sales to boost the coffers to finance more kit development. Dave
  15. May I make the following suggestion. Build two small branchline termini, curtain them off around the front so as to hide them from view. Then connect the two using an open fiddleyard with the backscene upto the same height as the curtain round the front of the stations . Pleanty of people ask to see how a fiddleyard works. This way they can enjoy the yard whilst you enjoy the termini.
  16. If the listed trader 'JB's Models' is JB's Model World, I'll be there. Emudas
  17. I can remember seeing Norden. An 'N' gauge Morden. Dave
  18. Here's a couple of quickies to expand the range, John. (You may remember) On TO21 Corner Shops. Using the doorway 'on the angle' change this to an entrance to a hallway and make the upper floors a series of flats. Leaving the shops a lockups. On TO20 Terraced Houses. Supply windows on the front elevation behind the bay windows so you have a choice of bay or no-bay windows. Use R006 'platform subway' for a London street 'Tube station entrance'. A classic LT Tube/BR station entrance. For the High Street scene or to fit the viaduct arches. A bus Garage and / or Bus station Dave Smith
